It's not gonna happen with a stock block. R3 block, W-9 heads, full race setup will get you there. Gonna have to spin it to 8500+ but that's the fun part...

Totally stock 318, or just block and heads, or just a 318 block.

Just a stock 318 block anyday of the week with a turbo, blower or nitrous. There is probably one somewhere doing it NA.

Using stock 318 head castings and crank, you are reaching but, there are probably some guys who know turbos that can.

There have been many 340's with power adders that have done this. Some 318's had steel cranks. I know of a 360 cast crank engine that made over 700 HP with nitrous. The 318 crank in much smaller than 360 in the mains and may have trouble with twist making that kind of power but, I doubt it.

The only real limiting factor of a 318 is the heads and the bore itself. Other than that it can make power. What I would call a stock 318 there is no way to make 700 HP. But, that is just by the rules I would call stock.
