the biggest thing is nobody got hurt, that's the important thing.

best of luck with the repairs. if this sport was easy, anyone could do it.

Knew I would lay my eyes on that Dart someday,it looked awsome and pictures don't do it justice.
I knew after we met that your HEMI-ITIS would motovate you to bring it back looking even better than before

First of all I feel your pain. I'm glad the car is repairable. The video looked liked it kicked a rod? Can you comment on your fire system? It looked like it knocked it down only to have it come back.

Whether you rebuild or walk away; so few if any have ever built as wild a Mopar A-Body as yourself and the A-Body world is thankful to have witnessed and/or experienced it!! Here's to hope that the dart is wrenched back to health some day soon.

Well said Bill, that car is one of the Mopars that we can all point to and say this why we love 'em. Don't know Jimmy from Adam but everytime I show pictures of his car off to guys at work I've only heard ooh's and aah's from the Brand X crowd.

No walking away here.

It just sucks we were really starting to run harder with the cooler weather coming in.

I'm kinda curious here, too, Jimmy - what type system you had and how it worked, or failed. I was under the impression that the gas systems work well in the cabin, due to low cleanup and the gas stays in the cabin, where the foam setups are more for the underhood areas where the foam sticks where it's sprayed and keeps cooling the area - it doesn't get blown away while the car is slowing down like I would think a gas system could.

So, your thoughts on this and what happened, or didn't happen, would be appreciated.

Re: Here we go again. Clean up isle 3 - 10/16/11 11:16 AM

After having the car out of the trailer and starting to clean it up I will say the system did it's job and did it well.

It was an oil and alcohol fire it was out for the most part, then started up again. We are going to add 2 to 3 more nozzels under the hood with the system we are using you can run 6. We have what the rules call for which is 3. The plan will be to add at a min 2 at the fire wall in the engine compartment.

I am happy with the way it functioned, driver came out okay and most of the car is in good shape. Looking at the pictures you can see it never burned the paint on all of tubing.

As a fellow A body owner I agree with this, well said. I told the wife when my car grows up it wants to be like your car. The wickedest A body there ever was!

How bad is the metal, can it be cleaned and repainted or are you looking at a front half?
