Re: my hemi. - 09/03/11 04:28 AM

i agree. if i can put 2 sideways holleys on it, i think i will go that route.

engine is a 426. or maybe a little smaller. not sure. engine had a novi with 6.1 heads. those in the pic are eagles with smaller chamber. no cam picked out yet. i want to run the numbers on the current cam first and see what it has

im under $4k for everythng you see in the pic. it would be cool to get 650hp for that kind of money

Re: my hemi. - 09/03/11 05:36 AM

I want to see it with the motor plate bolted on.

i DA'd it with 120 grit and it has swirls in it making it look weird in a pic. need to buy some scotch bright and fix it. plus it needs a pump to get the full effect and i dont have one yet

Re: my hemi. - 09/04/11 01:52 PM

who's valve covers?

Care to share the specs on this build? These new hemi engines have really caught my eye. If I ever build another engine it's going to be a gen3 hemi

I like the valve covers... what headers do you have on it?
Posted By: MattW

Re: my hemi. - 09/04/11 02:25 PM

Re: my hemi. - 09/04/11 03:24 PM

Re: my hemi. - 09/04/11 03:58 PM

Thanks Guys, goin to drag week next week so i wont be getting much done till next month. still working ittle gremlins out of the cuda

the intake is a modded 392 hot heads research intake. not that i know anything but i like it better than the mod man because it has a "V" floor and long sweeping runners. (credit to twaters on intake mods)

the valve covers are made by Indy. there are special sparkplug wires but i just cant pay what they want so i bought 426 hemi wires cheap on ebay and going to make my own.

the headers are beautiful. TTI 6.4 hemi. the exhaust port in the header flange is big and round and i have also been told spending alot of time porting the exhaust side of the head makes a big difference in HP

My buddy who owns The CrankShop is the original designer of those valve covers. He may be able to help you with a less expensive wire set.

Engine looks real good! Sorry it took so long for me to post kudos. As much as I hate to say it, I'm pretty sure you'll have fuel distribution troubles with the single carb on that intake. I think it'll look good and run better with 2X4 4150's but, it appears you're already considering this change.

copied from tti site

6.4L: 2.0" O.D. tubes / merged into 3.5" collectors

3/8" thick laser-cut header and collector flanges, contoured for a leak free fit

Above the steering center link design (under chassis) offers maximum header to ground clearance

Full length header design for proven power gains

One piece header tubes / No slip tubes

Those hemi's are cool, needs a ysi vortech on the front . Those 3g's LOVE boost . How about 900+ rear wheel horsepower on pump gas.
