002/003 spring location question - 07/29/11 04:08 AM

Ok, this seems like a dumb question to me, but I gotta ask. With the 002/003 springs, which one goes on the driver side/passenger side?

All mopar part numbers with a right or left designation the last diget tells you the correct side. Even number right or passenger side and odd number left or driver side.

Thanks for all of the responses. I know it was a dumb question, but I wasnt sure. I was looking under my car the other day, and sure enough, the springs are on wrong! Car launches good and goes straight tho.

I'm sure you've heard this before, the only dumb question is the one not asked. You can't know unless you ask or are involved in what's going on. But usually you'll still ask the questions. It's good that it launches good and straight. Depending on your power output, if you change them to the correct side it may get even better. The S/S springs were "biased", meaning more leaves on the RH side due to the torque of the engine trying to twist and pick up the LF which caused the RR to squat, which tended to lift or try to pull the RR up off of the pavement on launch.
We've got the S/S springs on my Duster, but I never bothered to unclamp the rear segment, as I was testing other items. My son told me they weren't working and wanted me to spend the $$$ right away on Cal-Traks, (which I do have on my stock eliminator car), but I told him to be patient and learn. When I said it was time to work the rear suspension and we unclamped the rear segment of the springs, it blew him away at how well it worked.
He didn't want to ask any questions, just take things as he saw them thinking it wasn't working and spend more $$$. I told him 1 change at a time so we knew if it worked or not. Again, no dumb questions can be asked.

Naughty, naughty. The first number is pass, the next number is driver. Odd or even. It can catch you. Check out early 90's window regulator motor part numbers. Mopar stores from 1977 to 2009. 5393(one of the earliest dealer codes in Minnnesots), 65454 and 63951.
