CFM flow comparison bb victor vs super vic - 05/13/11 07:02 PM

Has anyone ever did a cfm flow comparison between the edelbrock victor and the super victor?

I know the super vic has the dominator flange, but the super vic has a bigger runner. You can see a few differences in the intake design. I was told same intake just a dominator flange on the super vic, but it has some differences.

RB super vic 2891 is a standard port I believe. I have one on my 520 cube dart with cnc eddy rpm heads

2891 super vic (vs) RB 2954 vic

I just installed a victor on a 493 while we do something about this Indy 2d that needs a lot of hours in prep to bolt on. It has serious core shift, and the ports were not inline with the gaskets. The intake would not even set on the heads. The front and back flanges were 1/4 inch longer, holding the intake up off the heads. And had about a 180 thou twist in the flange surface, that needed to be milled off to square it. Mancini said they would swap it out as a defect or refund. Some good guys aren't they. This is the first Indy intake I ever bought that was a defective blem this bad. 3 other intakes fit on this engine exactly with no issues.

So just looking for a flow comparison between the 2 vics for now.......Just curious

The super vic is much larger than the vic, but the ports are the same size. I took my super vic off tonight and also had a vic to compare it to. The standard paper gaskets fit them both.

Still looking for a flow comparison.

I haven't put them on the flow bench but I've run them on the dyno. The Super Victor makes a bunch more power depending on the engine. I'm not really a fan of the Victor intake with the small plenum and small runners. I suppose it works okay on smaller motors, but most guys are building 500+ strokers these days.
