NOT cheap ... roger that ...and almost the same weight as steel.

For what I hear on all of these sites ... the 70-72 Dart is a very VERY popular car ... much more than years ago. From the feedback I have gotten .. there is a need for some real-lite parts for this car. And maybe even a hood with the rear cowl section(the piece between the hood and the windshield). I made one of those years back but it was a 2 piece mold. Plans are to make a ONE PIECE mold. And THEN a set of fenders WITH the fender extensions as PART of the fender(not as a add-on).

Td ... you were a lucky guy to get parts that did not need A LOT of work on one end .... and on the other end ...were totally uNusable. Maybe a reason you got decent stuff is that you were picking them up and could actullay inspect them before loading them in your vehicle.

LOUSY workmanship is the reason for most of their probs.

When I was in Florida I stopped in at AAR to see my hood
for my Rampage... was nice and considerably lighter
than the stock hood... the company owner also has a
72 Duster or Demon so I would think it has some nice
parts on it... it looked good and I would think its
a fair bit lighter

These are AAR, needed a lot of work to look this good. Have their six pack hood, too, no pics of it though.

2. Also, if you wonder why the front backspacing looks off, it is because these are not the correct wheels.

It was originally a 2" cowl hood and I wanted 4" so
he added 2" vertical to the back of the cowl(tapered
it in from the front)... I havent weighed either hood
but the glass was much lighter... I will guess at
30% lighter... maybe more

Nobody has commented on VFN's products but it looks like they offer more "A" body stuff than AAR. What's the verdict with them- good or bad?

I have both aar and vfn- for 65 coronet-aar frt fenders and frt bumper-very very nice parts-high dollar at 425 per fender and will need very minimum work-body lines very good-very nice parts-frt bumper also very good-had to cut holes for parking lamps but very good quality-bought vfn hood and scoop for 2 reasons-1 price(1/2 of aar and 2-scoop was shorter than aar( moved my firewall back 12 inches and motor back 9 inches and need more room at rear of hood to dzus hood down--scoop required about 45 min work to fit hood the way we wanted and hood will not require major surgery like some I have seen at swap meets-over all I have spent about 1700 on glass and feel very good about all 5 parts I have and when my body man looked at them he said"thanks, these will be easier than any I have ever done".vfn also open on sat till noon

I`m a dork, I thaught "bumper" not fenders.... I hear the weight difference is minimal and not worth the effort.

The SAME can be said about the bumper ...although it is not as critical. Some people have spent HUGE $$$$ on a paint job and then the AIR BUBBLES appear.

I can say that the AAR hood is much lighter than the stock flat hood. That thing is heavy. That, and I have the "bolt on" hood from AAR which is heavier yet.

The fenders are significantly lighter as well. However, I would have went with steel if I could have found a decent set at the time the car was painted.
