Slick size - 04/03/11 02:31 AM

Mostly a lurker but do to advanced years my memory has had it and I can not remember what size slicks I ran back in the '60 on my B-Bodies.I have a '69 runner,4:10 locker, snubber, frame tied,727 with a 4k convertor and manual reverse shift,440/6 eddy heads,Straight line solid lifter cam 555/277/248,10/1 compression (rough guess fairly close. I can not even hazzard a guess what we used then other then a soft compound and light sidewalls. They wriggled pretty good and we ran maybe 10/12 pounds of air I think and lots of screws to keep them in place.I know everybody has a favorite manufactor so any ideas are welcome. If you want to take a guess what it might run I'll take that info also.......Thanks for your time and help.

MT, Hooser, and Goodyear all have some decent choices for your combo.

I prefer MT, With your mild combo and 4.10 gear Id go with 9 x 28 MT 3054,s They actually have a 27.3 " diameter that will give you a little more gearing for your RR. With the 4.10,s the max diameter slick that Id go with is around 29"

Id stick with the 28" diameters myself for your ride. The 9 x 28 MT will work great with alot of mild combos. No need to go bigger if you dont need it.

Id recomend a 28in. tall M\T but a little wider around 11in. why buy one that may or may not give you traction problems the price isnt going to be much more unless you dont have the room for that much tire

10.5X28.5 on a 10" rim with 4 -7/8" backspacing fit and worked great on my 1970 Super Bee with 4.10 gears. It ran high 12's back in the day...

Cheers,
