its marcella,,, marcella manifolds,, john worked for me for about 6 months about 10 years ago,,, he will get 3500 or so for one...

john beck's wont look as nice cause he has an older welder than marcella,,, he will get 2500 or less

4.5 inch runner,, 7-8 degrees total taper,, make the plenum 5 inches deep from lid

You didn't mention what head he was going to run but Tom Hemphill from Clarksburg,PA. does a lot of B1 manifolds. He may even have something used laying around. If you need more info let me know.

Look into the Indy intake. I have the indy tunnel ram for the 440-1's and it really looks like a nice piece. I almost bought one set up to run on the 572's. I talked to Pete at best machine and he makes an adapter kit so you can also bolt it on B1's with a little work. The guy wanted 500.00 for it.

just curious, why are they so much? is it the time it takes to build one? or the the design? what exactly are you paying for?

HRE Manifolds 610-759-3166

TRE are good bang for the buck, the quality was on par with the CFE manifold I had done for my W8 engine, but around $900 less.

how much power can be had from a single plane to a fabbed ???or even from a standerd t-ram to a sheet metal? just thinking out load but is it really worth the xtra coin?? at 1000hp range is it the best choice to go with from the start??? these are ?? that i asked my buddy and he thinks its best to go this way but hey his the 1 with the coin lol..mike

Why is that? He quoted me $600 for a 'kit' of a low deck single carb tunnel ram, I'd have to have a buddy weld it up.
I decided not to go this route as HardcoreB has a great deal on an Indy TR but now I've decided to stick with what I have.

Hogan's is one of the cheaper places to get one, but is probably the best bang for the buck. Because of the sheer volume of manifolds they do, they can price them lower. Most everyone else starts at 3k. A Wilson will cost you 6-8k. It's like anything else, you get what you pay for. LOTS more to it, than bending up some sheet aluminum and welding it together........at least there is if you want it to make power.

How about making billet runners ?
Lets say there could be a runner length and taper that would work good for 540-572 B1 orig. heads that at least 4 or more could use. We could then ask for a price, like a group buy.
I bet there is lots of costs to be saved in programming and fixture for milling these in a 5-axis cnc mill.
I would like to have o-rings and four allen bolts 1/4 or smaller in both ends of the runner.
If you change deck height in a future build, you could use the runners for another engine and build a new plenum.
My budget will not allow for this build, this winter, but probably next winter.

Here´s an example I found google the net, but with very short runner length.
