It is about 4 miles as the frigate bird flies. A bit longer as the Road Runner drives. Takes around 15-20 minutes but 5 of that is getting down our road. I can see the light glow from our porch so easy to know if they are open. That will change when we move to our own place but that is okay.

I can't hear the announcer (mainly because the track's PA system is so very poor), but I can clearly hear the cars and boats from my home. The jet-car "pops" sound like somebody is pounding on my windows.

Don, I didn't know that Clarksville was still racing. I raced there in the mid 80's. First time I went there, missed the sign that said "DRAG STRIP", hand painted on a 1 X 3, 12" long, cut on one end to a point, nailed to a fence post. I was looking for a big billboard. Do they still have the high speed, banked turn at the end of the shut down?
