GOODGUYS president son injured at Sacramento Raceway... - 09/29/10 12:16 AM

7yo son of GOODGUYS president Marc Meadors was injured over the weekend at Sacramento Raceway. I heard it was ugly but thankfully the boy will make a full recovery.....makes you think twice now being in the staging lanes.....

Sounds like the boy will be alright, thank God.

Now what about the dufus driving the dragster?

First thing you do after a burnout is put the car in 1st and make sure it is in first by rolling forward. Then worry about your helment, your crew members, if the car is in the groove, etc.

#1 rule taught at Frank Hawelys drag school. Lucky I attended before driving anything fast.

I read where a bracket broke off the frame...don't matter even if it happened before the burnout. No excuss.

A 7 year old boy should NOT be on the starting line or anywhere close to it!

Read the story, he was in the staging lanes in his fathers golf cart.

From what I read the dragster went backwards into the staging lanes. The little boy tried to get out of the way too.

Read the rule book. No one under the age of 16 except inside a fully enclosed vehicle. I don't this that inclueds golf carts, scooters and so on.

This accident reminds of Shelly Howards accident. She was killed as were her son who was in a pickup truck at the time. Now that was a unblieveable deal there. She was a friend of mine.

So does anyone know what happened exactly? From the article it sounds like the car just went into reverse, but that could mean idling back into the lanes, doing a burnout into the lanes, or taking off on kill!

I'm down in socal and none of my cronies up north were there, what happened?
