I would spend the $$$ on a Dana. Will last you a long time!!! You could also use a 9".

This topic comes up more than round wins in a racing season.

Bullet proof Dana 60 is the ONLY way to go when racing a 65 nss car.. S tourch out the little piggie and install the Beast and never look back...

8.75 I want to see how soon it comes apart and what it will look like

Seriously at that weight and torque output
DANA all the way

I'll be making the swap soon

The ONLY thing a Ford 9.00" or an 8.75 has over a Dana is the ease of changing gears. Otherwise a Dana wins hands down and would be my pick for your combo without hesitation, just be sure to get the gearing right the first time

JM2¢?
This may be your last chance to sell the 8-3/4 to a friend with a clear conscience ("no damage"), and reduce your Dana cost as much as possible.
Once it starts making noise...

That is the key. A 8-3/4 will take a bunch of power, but if you are racing it often (and hooking) it will eventually break.

I wouldn't jump on the Dana "bandwagon" w/o really taking a look at what you WILL be doing with the car.

My car may see some track time as well, and has some pretty good power, but it sure isn't going to be often enough to worry about the 8-3/4 breaking, or spending the cash on a Dana.
