SB Alternator bracket for a Meziere water pump.

I know some guys have been on the lookout for an alternator bracket for there SB engines when using a Meziere electric water pump. Bob Mazzolini has some neat brackets that work pretty good. We are using one on my brothers Cuda. 1-951-787-8783.

We use this Powermaster 100 amp alternator that works GREAT on the street with electric water pump,fans, fuel pump, driving at night with all the lights on etc. and the voltage stays at 14.2 volts always. The battery has never been discharged even in stop and go traffic, and we are even runnin a small diameter Moroso lower crank pulley.

I have asked sloan about this a few times, I didn't want to put my gheto bracket back on this time around. Here is a picture he posted some time back.

Does anybody know if that backet will work with a CSR pump?

Bring that puppy over and I will help you cut those lightening holes in it you have marked. Lord knows I have enough experience...........

The picture of the bracket installed on the engine above is the origional (VERY) rough draft. Believe it or not I used an aluminum road sign like a stop sign to make that using a jig saw. My old man thought it was cheesy, so he drew up a design on his cad program and then Mazzolini sent it to his machinist to have it made. My Dads cad drawing actually is much nicer than the piece shown, but the machinist thought that the lightening holes and the finished chamfering was overkill. Whatever!!! It would have looked much nicer and more refined if it would have been made to my dads specs per his Cad blueprint. Anyways, that bracket does work very nice.

you would need the correct bottom pulley for it to work. I would sell them as a pair.

Do you think it will work with the moroso pump?

Also, the pictures of our origional bracket show the lower pulley and the crank spacer made by www.dotymi.com, the small spacers required to shim the alternator out are also available through doty as well. I think we will eventually have the bracket made ourselves with the chamfering, lightening holes, polishing and anodizing. But for now, there is little to no demand for this part so this is the best we can do. I actually wasnt going to have them made, but Bob Mazzolini said he has been getting requests for this part. So he sprung for the machining costs and had a handfull of them made. I think he only had 10 of them made. So if you need one, you better get one soon!! As far as the CSI water pump, Im not sure. I will buy a CSI soon for my wifes car and will let you guys know.

Looking at the Moroso electric water pump, I dont think that it would be difficult to adapt this piece to it. Im trying to work with Bob to get all the necessary spacers/shims and pulleys together to sell as a whole kit or just seperately knowing what works. I know how nice it is to just buy a kit that has everything in it that just works without any pains.
I can tell you the bracket works great, but you will need to get the necessary spacers to make it work. Its really not all that bad to figure out though. The spacers from Dotymi.com are anodized black and are nice looking.

Any idea the cost?

The alternator pictured above is an 8062 from powermaster. It produces all the juice you need for a street/strip car and then some. We had a smaller alternator from powermaster that fit this same bracket, but it wouldnt keep up with the demand of the components in the car. Actually it could, but we were working the alternator too hard and we burned up 3 of them. THe part number for that smaller and lighter alternator slips my mind, but for race only I would think it would work out great. My brothers car is a street car that he drives all the time, and this 8062 alternator kicks butt.
