Cool that the car is still around, but what's up with the bubble on the hood?

not sure on the bubbles on the hood maybe distributor clearance they did set the motor back on those cars,I wish we would have seen somebody around or had the hood off I will check on Friday.

I did get to watch and HEAR them drive Arlen Vanke's Duster in man it sounded great and looked awesome Arlen is very happy with the car he kept asking us how does it sound. not many mopars in their this year but their is 2 1967-1969 Barracudas painted like the Sox and Martin Barracuda.

Obviously, as you can see, these cars sat really low in the front, but the motors were raised in the chassis to keep the crank centerline up a little. The bumps were to clear the distributor caps.

Kind of off topic but..where can one get those hood scoops on the Stepp car?

Are they still available?

Thanks

I am interested in knowing who owns this car. My brother was a crew member on these Billy the Kid cars for several years. (name on the back fender "Clay") He always talked about someone finding and restoring one of these cars. He passed away the beginning of this year. These were good looking cars in those days.

Very cool pic's, I've always liked his pro-stockers and the paint schemes on them,
so what other old mopars showed up there.

the bump was because they were using twin distributers and the units sat high due to being installed on a drive
