Early "B" guys, which oil pan for big block?

Hey all, this past spring I put a 440/4 speed in my 65 Coronet. I used a 7 quart deep oil pan with a 1/2" pickup. This is a street car and I live on county roads. This equates to the oil pan rubbing when 3 or 4 people are in the car. I now have an oil leak.

So, I get to yank it and change the pan. I have a factory 187 pan to put on, but no pickup. I cannot find a 1/2" for this pan.

What pan do you all use that does not hang down? Will the Mopar Hemi pan work? I have the stock 1965 K frame.

Other than the original the 187 is about the only factory pan that will fit the BB early B. You'll have to fabricate your own 1/2" pickup for it.

A Max Wedge pan would be ideal for your situation but try to find one.

That is what I was afraid of John. I thought I might be able to cut and weld my deep pan 1/2" pick up to work with the factory pan.

The 1966 to 1969 street hemi pans fit fine in the early B body with the B and RB motors mounted on stock wedge K members with stock mounts Hemi shoulbd mount in the same place due to the trans crossmembers being the same BTW, I stock the Mopar OEM 1/2 oil pick ups for both the early and late B&E body Street Hemi motors with the stock oil pans.The late model 1970-71 street hemi and 440 6 pak pans won't fit in the pre 1966 B body K members with stock mounts

Who sells the early 66-69 hemi pan?

Be careful, the 66-69 K frame is diff than the early K frames. You see the K member is diff moving the engine forward 1 1/2-2" compared to the later 66 up K-frames.
If it were my car, I would clearance the are needed with a carbide Burr and epoxy, or Mig weld up hole. Im pretty sure stock-ish style oil pans will fit with a clearanced K-member in the lip area.

I run the SS style pan with the drag link through the pan. My engine was/is at stock location. I located a Milodon pan that worked like a charm.
If you have a truck pan, or 4x4 pan like the Milodon pan I would just use it.

I think he's looking for a better clearance stock type pan to replace his deep sump one...

Not sure that would help much.
