Spark Plugs for 572 & B1s - 06/10/10 05:59 PM

I've been running AR3910 plugs for a long time now but my new 572 with B1 MCs doesn't seem to like them. Who's using what?

Dick, I use either NGK 9's or 57CX's CPN-295 at Summit from champion. And the non projected long reach NGK's. I'll have to get you the number on mine, cause I don't have it here. How does the car work without an air pump?

So far no problem.

I just clamped a K&N breather over the -12 bungs on the valve covers. When the rings start to go away I'm sure it'll be a different story. It'd probably make some more power with a pump but, oh well.

Unless I re-mount my radiator further forward there's not much room.

NGK 5671 A9's. Also at Summit. Cool on the not needing a pump though. What MPH in S/G?

Thanks Scott and Tom, I'll get some of the NGKs ASAP. I used some 5672A-9s last year and didn't like them but maybe the new heads will.

Tom, no full passes yet without the motor crappin' so no idea on SG MPH yet. I'm borrowing a buddies spare 7AL3 and Pro Power coil this weekend for Jim's "Fire & Thunder" race. I'll make the first hit with my parts then if it still doesn't run I'll swap the box and coil and try again. Sure would like to get a SG pass or two. Hope I can get more than the 1 pass I made last time I went to Woodburn!

Did you see the You Tube vid I posted of the car on Paolo's chassis dyno. Look under the car.

I did see it. The starter looks like it is gaining a little clearence, but mine has done that too. What do you have for jets and what carb? And what timimg? Checking all of you MSD connections might help, as well. I used to have issues with the moisture in that area over the winter corroding all kinds of stuff in my car. I'm sure it's something simple. I never used Autolite plugs, but if you are a little hot, or too fat or lean, too much timing etc, that might be causing you a problem. I'll be out there for the divisional at the end of the month racing my old car in S/C. Then you can watch me struggle.

R5671A-9 for me as well. I have to use the stock number to order them from my local parts store though. Cant remember that number though on vacation up here on the border..Back to looking at trees and watching whales and dodging raindrops
