TnT last night. - 05/08/10 04:57 PM

Drove the dart the 50 miles to the track last night for a few passes, 2 weeks ago it ran a 13.07 on a 1.86, this is just a very mild 360 magnum with a stock high miled short block, 3.73 gears & 2800 11" PTC converter, last outing timing was at 25* total & had a 3310 on it, bumped the timing up too 30* & installed a 650dp jetted at 70/76, the cam is a small re-ground, .477/.477 lift with .218/.218 @50 on a 112. Shifting at 5200 through the mufflers. 1st. pass was on a pro-tree, i let off just after the 1000ft. next 2 passes i ran it out. I'm in the left lane. So how did i do .

I think you left some on the table, bump the timing up a little to 35 deg and try it again, you might get a little more out of it.

These magnum heads don't really need all that timing like the LAs, the most i'll go is 32* & see how it does but thats it, i don't want detination, i'm running on 87 octane.

Whats the cam specs on that crate? Mine is just a re-gring from Bullet cams, accually its the cam that was in it, if i do get out there again, i'll try more timing, but the DA i'm sure will be getting worse, you know how that goes lol, are track here is at 1650ft. I'm still trying to slap myself & see if i wake up from a dream, i'd never thought this combo would run so good, i'm sure theres a tenth or 2 left in it somewere (maybe), i was hopeing for a 12.99 & i would have been satisfied, but i was told by many it wasn't in the cards with this mild combo.

what ever came in the 360/390hp. it looks like your car is doing well like it is. i mean, an 8.06 in the 1/8? not too bad indeed!!!!

Looks like the interior of my sons 72 Dart. Joe were you still in it on the 12.58 ?? I mean 12.50's @ 104 mph is a very good et for the mph unless you lifted and if you did it has more in it. Very good tune you did on her. Ron

Joe I can see the grin on your face all the way from Joplin. Sorry I couldn't make it. Our service mgr. took a vacation so I couldn't get off work early. Jim

Re: 383man - 05/09/10 05:06 AM

Ron, it was full passes on the last 2 runs, it was only gaining 19 mph between the 1/8 too 1/4, i'm sure if i put alittle bigger carb/more timing & release some exhaust it would have another 2 tenths & maybe 2 mph, Even though the mph seems alittle low for the ET its not, i met a guy last year running a 63 nova with a very mild 350, he was running 12.0s @ 106-107, his 60ft times were really good, they were in the 1.57 range.

Jim, sorry you couldn't make it out, the place was packed, it was a fun night.
