I was going to go but it looks like my new cage and frame connectors won't be done in time. CHASSISFAB PREFORMANCE has for what ever reason been taking their time. Dennis has had my Duster seance March 20th.

Come H E hockey sticks or high water I will be there again. Putting finishing touches on Trans work over the next couple weeks, might be installing trans at track, but I intend to defend my 10.0 title and give a stronger run this year for S/P than last year. Car should be capable of running 9.20's this year......we will see, I too am super pumped, but lots of things at the house to do. Gotta close on our new house next Thursday, then have 5 days to get moved out which leaves me 2-3 days to get ready to make some runs. Hoping that I have to run delay in the box this year for .400 tree.
Posted By: 1BadLiLCharger

Re: Official CC events at NTR, May 14-16 who's going post - 04/29/10 08:06 PM

It's a .400 tree again? I hadn't seen (or really looked for) anything on that yet this year.

I got a block finally and hoping to have it together and going at least one week beforehand at Norwalk for some shakedown passes....I wouldn't be comfortable heading all the way down to Columbus with no passes.

Depends on who you get and what mood their in John.

Go to a bone yard and grab a stick from a GM, cut the stick if you want, and use it as a plug and you'll be fine

Hey there Racer Al, Your car looks great, in fact it looks a lot like the Warren & Augenstein 67 Hemi Belvedere that we run here at Sled City Fiberglass. We won't be at the Classic in Columbus because of a lot of work being done on the new 62 Plymouth wagon, and a heavy work load for Mike Warren, the owner/driver of the Hemi. There will be a few of the racers stopping by our shop to pick up their orders over the weekend. We are only 37 miles from National Trail Raceway. Good luck with your 67.

hey bill, the starting line at mcir has gotten better..mark(second generation owner)is trying hard and they are making strides at making it a nice track to race at. to me the big end of the track is the issue...it's pretty bumpy..thats why they are running their pro/box class 1/8 mile..although the bumpy big end must not be to bad because they had some fast street cars running 1/4 mile there last fri. night and they didn't seem to have any trouble. come on up sometime

According to MCG Charlie had his day in court and everything was settled and everyone is happy as ticks on a bore hog. I am glad that Charlie is putting full effort into The Chrysler Classic now. It has been around for a long time , and it would take a really great show to out do the Classic. I have been tuned to radio and have been hearing all the ads about the Classic and they are calling it "The JEGS Chrysler Classic" . Did Charlie sell The Classic to JEGS?

What Rob Wolf actually wrote in MCG, and I quote was this.
"I don't think either party was happy with this outcome, but with a jury trial, there's no chance for an appeal in a case like this. So for all practical purposes, the sale of Classic Events is now finally complete after over three years of arguing. To me the best result of this settlement is that Charlie can now concentrate on event managment rather than a long drawn out trial, and that can only be a positive for the Mopar community."

Jegs has come on board as a Classic Events Series sponsor, and I glad you have been hearing all about the Classic on the radio...It can only help the Mopar community, as far as the series being sold, that once again is just the rumour mill from a few who either have no idea what is going on or just want to stir it up The truth is that CC Events has become more determined to make this work, (Note the new upgraded web site) as well as the addittion of several new Series Sponsors...And by the way Glass Man, it is really to bad you will not be in Columbus...You are going to miss a HUGE major announcement at the Classic....But not to worry, I am sure you will hear about it soon......
See Everyone this weekend!

All the drama is yesterdays old news.Let's all concentrate on moving forward in a positive direction keeping any and all mopar related events viable for everyone to enjoy.Without the events we would not have any venues to race, show, sell, swap and generally hang out with great mopar crowd.Sitting in a mall parking lot, polishing chrome is not a meaningfull event. The race tracks that host these events is where it all happens so supporting the events is a positive effect on our hobby and on our economy in general.Everyone gets to benifit.

Might make the trek out. Got tickets for the Cavelcade of Stars at Norwalk. Seems like lots of Moparts guys will be there anyway.. Are all of the CC events still going on? I heard there was some trouble.. Oh well, I'll be at one of the races, Columbus or Norwalk..

Hey there G.Rocker, Missed you at Rockingham this year, but I will see you Saturday morning or early afternoon at the Classic. I'm doing my own thing early because I have to be back at my shop by 2pm to greet customers for their fiberglass needs. We are stocked with Hemi,A/FX and Max Wedge scoops and showing off our new Max Wedge scoop that is awsome and has a good look , not like the other box style Max scoop. We will be taking orders too! See ya soon, Glassman

I am in full agreement with you Bob and I also believe that there should be more of a varity in Mopar events, be it bigger or smaller. Believe it or not, some of us depend on these Mopar events to make a living.

I'll be going, Friday and Saturday. I'll be setting up in the swap area, trying to PURGE some of the parts. Look for the big blue sprinter van with my 8 year old selling mopar suregrip additive....cheap! I put him in charge of that.

Count me in. Not crazy about traveling so far with no runs on the new block, but what the heck, just hope for the best.

BTW, is tech gonna be on our backs if we're running 9.90's during the 10.0 shootout and we don't have our NHRA license?

Well, Genuine Rocker, there you go again talking about something you know nothing about. When did you get your law degree? As we've all learned, just because something is in print doesn't mean it's true. I've got a HUGE announcement coming myself.

I never claimed to have a Law degree.. Glass Man took something in MCG way out of context and I just put what was written up here , quoting Rob Wolf who was at the trial..Everyone can now see for themselves what MCG printed. How Glass Man read those words and came away thinking that

It's all fun and games until it gets ugly and someone gets pissed and things get out of hand.To bring the issues here is not going to serve any usefull purpose.Larry,Jeff and Paul need to get this behind them and move on.To keep trying to drag these issues up again will only hurt their future attempts at events that they put on and cost them attendence and revenues.People will see the bickering and take sides, the ones that agree with Larry and Jeff will only attend their events, the others that side with Paul and the Classics won't attend Jeff and Larry's events,so who getting hurt?Everyone is including the Mopar racers and enthusist. At one time I didn't care for Jeff or Charlie and wanted no part of what they were doing.I have since realize that even if their in it for the bucks they are giving us a venue to enjoy our hobby and have gotten past my personal issue and look forward to their events.By now we all know the story of the"bad blood" over the Classics.Personally I don't think there was any "winner" but the gavel has sounded and hopefully the case is "closed".To rehash anything on this forum will just alienate more people .To all partys, lets keep it civil,if you can't take it to some back alley and settle it among yourselfs. We don't need any more damage to our sport than has already been done by crooked racers, collecters and other rip-off artist. And we wander why people lose interest and abandon our sport. No disrespect to anyone envolve, just some BG logic to help get over bad yesterdays and look for some great tommarrows.Good luck to everyone. The Kwast family agree's. The Chrysler Classic Series is the only series we have ever attended since 1985 Northland Dodge Show and Shine we even quit going to the Mopar Nationals few years later. Chasity and Melissa was raised attending the Chrysler Classics. Let not destroy the family business and family racer's hobby. We too know Jeff & Becky and The Blankenships very well and we support both family's. They both have done an awesome job running the series. We are looking foward to an awesome season this year we hope. Our family has worked so hard to acheive what we have acheived this racing season. Our first true sponsorship Old Bag of Nails PUB is a wonderful sponsor. Jeff we will see you at the Goodguys this year. We will attend everyone of the Classic Events this season. Hope to see the girls in the winner circle. Lets drop all of these rumors and enjoy our family time together at the races enjoy some of the time with our closest friends we have made over the years. This means you to Greg buddy can't wait to see you. Debi will have a hug for you too. lol

C.C. Events remind me of when I was a little kid. Everyone looks out for each other, 99% of the people there are out to have a good time but are still competitive as hell. Dad has introduced me to some of the nicest, most giving and unselfish people I have ever met at C.C. Events, as long as I have a job I'll be at as many as possible....especially when the Avenger is done.

Just as an FYI for those coming from the west. Big time construction through downtown Columbus. Also Race for the Cure is Saturday morning as well. Traffic will be crazy on Saturday morning all around Columbus.

A section of I-70 eastbound heading into Downtown will close after the morning rush hour.

Despite the rainy weather, an around-the-clock project to repair two bridges will start at 9 a.m. Thursday. The Ohio Department of Transportation hopes to be done by 5:30 Monday morning.

Eastbound lanes of freeway will be closed starting at the I-670 split. Drivers wanting to get back to I-70 eastbound will be detoured to I-71 southbound and back onto I-70 at the East Side split.

The repair will fix the bridge decks over Harper Road and the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks. Officials had said the timing of the project depended on the weather, but it is going ahead because the rain is expected to be gone by the time workers need to pour concrete.

I-70 westbound will remain open because those bridges don't need repairs. Harper Road closed today at the I-70 bridge; it is to reopen Monday morning.

I wont be there but one of my prized themed Caterpiller golf carts will be there. You cant miss it! Its yellow and its a Cat

I,ll be at the Norwalk/Summit Cavalcade that "Wild Bill" gave me tickets for, for guessing the HP of his original motor.

I didnt know the two Dates of these events were the same.

Im guessing Wild Bill didnt want me going to CC event, Not only did I get 2 Free tickets from Wild Bill, for the Summit Calvalcade event,

The Guy/Gus that borrowed the "Cat Golf cart" gave me 3 more

The weather is looking great as I speak. To All may this be a great weekend! mike

EDIT; If you could ,if anybody that sees a big guy on the said, Yellow Caterpiller Themed Golf cart,

Yell out.

" Hi Gus"

He wont know what to think. Look for the Puzzeled look. and dont explain a thing. mike

Re: Official CC events at NTR, May 14-16 who's going post - 05/13/10 01:52 PM

Thanks BG and everyone else for your support. I agree and would like to make one final statement on the matter before moving on.

The "rumors" have existed because of a Confidentiality Agreement and that fact that I have been advised by counsel to "lay low". The fact of the matter is that I have been trying for the past five years to end this dispute - everything from trying to help Charlie to succeed, to forgiving his debt, to trying to buy the company back. Unfortunately Charlie's "plaintiff's attorney" filled his head with ideas, encouraged him not to let it go and it ended horribly for him. It breaks my heart to see what has happened to the events in recent years, but I'm glad the comraderie is still there. Unfortunately there are people like genuinerocker who really don't have a clue and continue to fuel the rumors.

For the record, Rob Wolf of MCG attended the trial as a witness. He didn't have anything to say good or bad about anyone, he just stated that it was no longer the CC events series, but was now the MCG series. (A bad business decision on Charlie's part.) Witnesses were not allowed in the courtroom except when they were on the stand. Rob was there a total of 15 minutes. He did not witness any outburst because there was none. He did not hear Bill Bader's damaging testimony because there wasn't any. His opions of law are false, as there is always a possibility of appeal. The case is not over until Charlie's lawyer says it is and he hasn't done that yet. Any real reporter asks for both sides of the story or at least uses a fact checker. But that would make boring reading.

I'm tired of being thrown under the bus by outsiders. BG, just so you know, I gave up a career as an architect. I was never in this for the money. I just loved Mopars and drag racing like the rest of you.

Peace.

Look for the Puzzeled look. and dont explain a thing. mike

I stopped and picked up 15 gallons of E85 and I hope I use every drop this weekend.

I'm heading to the track in just a few. If anyone forgets any tools I'm only 8 miles from the track now so we can always run back to the house.

The weather is forcast is awsome!

Thanks, Bill. Could've been a better race, I was a little late (.041) but he was barely red (-.002). I'm trying to keep this beast in the 10's (NHRA thing) and had he been green he probably would've pushed me out. Maybe we can meet again tommorow and make a good run out of it. Hope you get your stuff sorted out.

Thanks, Vic!

Congrats to both of you!

I vote that Wild Bill needs to go to all the Mopar events....I MISS all the pictures.
And, if anyone sees Mr. P-Body, tell him we've got a turkey in the freezer. Nothing huge, just a jake with a 4" bird, but it's dinner. And, it was the biggest bird out of the flock of 8. I just can't seem to get that lone big guy to come near me! (Apologies for hi-jacking the thread....now back to CC-events)

If I see him in the morning I will tell him what you said about the gobbler cause I need to talk to him some more anyway his help netted me another .014 today, last I saw him he and Labrat were sitting on the guardrail at the starting line. Oh, and no apologies needed for the hijack.
