Just a follow up question on the manifold, and I hopefully won't be a PITA but would the casting number on the manifold be 4452893?

I have two of the MP M1 intakes with 893 and they are standard LA bolt pattern....not w5

Casting #4452893 is on the right in picture (small runner)
Manifold on left casting #P4532658 (large runner)

Re: W5 Intake Manifold - 04/17/10 03:50 PM

just went out in the garage and looked...

the two LA standard head bolt pattern heads have the 893 casting....and the brand new in the box W5 intake has the 893 casting...

so you can not just go my the casting number..the intakes appear identical except for the bolt pattern...

this intake is setting on top of a set of eddy heads...and the standard LA intake gaskets line up.

same casting ...different part numbers...
but the part numbers are not on the intake only the casting...

Re: W5 Intake Manifold - 04/17/10 04:12 PM

bottom intake isn w5...wider bolt pattern..other wise they look identical...

would this lead you to believe that you can take a standard LA intake and redrill it ...and it will fit a w5???

Seldom am I here or reply, but I thought this A good idea to and time to post. At risk, here's a bunch of shots on a intake I have for sale at another site, worthy of a look.
It has the wide bolt spacing of the W series heads and the same casting numbers as 70AAR.

It so appears that this intake is drilled as needed, OE heads, W5 heads. The ports are very close to gasket matched. Black marker shows the slight grinding effort needed for a port match.

The W-5 version would also have to be milled for OEM port alignment.
W-5 heads have raised intake (and exhaust) ports.

Re: W5 Intake Manifold - 04/18/10 12:09 AM

so if i go set the w5 intake on the eddy heads it should stick up in the air??

going to go try this

w5 intake seem to want to set up somewhat when placed on the standard/eddy heads...

well...end of that story..

I had one of those intakes I bought off the Archer Brothers when Dodge pulled out of Trans-Am (again). It didn't match the ports on the W-5 heads I bought from them. Not really close.

Remember the W-5/W-7 spacers for the end rails?
