how did this happen...904 related

Upon tear down I found this which is the cause of no forward gears. Not sure how I broke it, any thoughts? I made sure all clearances were right on. I dont use a trans brake or anything.

who really knows why but I can tell you its not the first 1 I have seen do that

I have always run 904's and that's the first one I have seen do that,,,,,,,not to say I never will. look's like the area around the splined hub just gave up, metal fatigue??

Was really suprised on how little that weld penetrates.

Scares me! I've been looking for a 727 for our Dart and maybe change over this year.
