the Demon with the Pro Stock motor will be off the hook but with all the money ive spent on parts and the motor completed and dynoed ive decided to put it in the Demon as i planned on instead of the Hemi 99 for now
every thing is made and has been mocked up other than some detail work
so the Demon will see light again this year with the small block
i really think i need to build a car around the Hemi and lighten it alot.
keep on eye out for updates on the 358 going in

I was wondering what you were thinking?? The Hemi in the Demon. Escpecially if you left it as is.
Like you said better to build a car around that Motor.
At least now I know I'm not alone. As far as someone that changes their mind every other day.

the Hemi will need a better chassis and lighter weight than what the Demon is
the R5 will be a good fit to run a few classes with in the Demon as it sits with a lillte work yet to be done
more than likely i will sell the Demon turn Key with the small block and build a new car

convertor is at Quick Draw for snout change and maybe the one peice billet front if it will fit
trans is getting a gone thru also
headers getting sent to QC Coatings
i will update as it comes back together
its been a long time coming for the Demon to hit the streets again
and have some fun with it
and at the track also

a few updates
headers are back from QC coatings
they did a very nice job on the coating
convertor is back from Quick Draw with the front cover updated to my specs
Mel will have the trans done tomorrow
now if i had time to work on it
all the new pro series 4 link stuff from Q max will be here tomorrow along with the shipment of chromoly for it

The headers look beautiful!!
Is that ceramic coating? I was thinking of doing that to mine to help hold in the heat and look nice. The flat black high temp charcoal grill paint isn't holding up so well. It looked good for a few months, now starting to burn off
Can't wait to see it at the NATS

Rick will be coming up to help out on it when i have time to work on it
gathering the parts is the easy part
should be a pretty cool peice when its done
i decide to do a double frame rail with a 4 link that will tag at 25.3 spec
so if the car doesnt sell with the small block i can always put the Hemi in and the car will handle it

waiting on the moly double gusset brackets to show up and then i can finishing the trans crossmember
it will bolt in
my offset is 12 inches on the crossmember
add the seat bar and my 6D and the floor is to 25.3 spec.
car still has the front frame rails/fire wall and the rear frame rails / trunk in it and supports from the rockers down to floor no problems with the car trying to spread out.

I still havent decide to keep the stock rear frame rails in the car or not just for a few classes that it can run in
most only care about the front frame rails and fire wall

Bob, run your own rails inside of the stock rails if you want to be sneaky about it or run them beside stock rails. Most of the rules say it must have stock rails doesn't say you can't add.

my 2B bars (rear rails) will run along the side the stock rails
i was thinking of cutting them out for the weight but want to keep the car open to more classes.

tacked the last gussets in place on the secondary door bars and slid it back to finish up the
Bucky is water jetting my logos for the funny car cage in stainless this time
i will have to polish them
now to start on the rear double frame rails

the demon is under a cover and havent touched it for a few weeks

Bob, I have done a few dirt car cages, Do you have a jig to cope those with a drill press, or do you have a cope cutting tool for a mill? I have seen some nice equipment out there, and all I have ever used was a milwaukee mag drill and a carbide hole saw. Worked great for what I did, but your fitment is unmatched, and amazing. Great work.do you tig everything, or do ya mig some of it. On my dirt car cage, I tigged the high stressed areas, and migged the lesser stuff. I also built a cage for a pulling tractor and it was all chrome molley, and was tigged.
You are a great craftsman for sure. I love welding and fabing up junk, If im ever in your area, Im gonna drop inn a resume. I love to work in your shop.

Nice work! If I could do mine all over again, it would be sitting in your shop. Hmmm... I am sure you can R&R a hodge podge of mild steel.

i tig moly
i do alot of my notching in my mill and i also use a JD notch master
hopefully i can get the chassis finished up in a few weeks
