It ain't purdy... :( - 02/16/10 06:34 PM

went 4.93 in the 1/8th and heard something bad so I lifted. Spark plug was eaten up pretty good. This is what I found today... I just want to

after back to back National event runner ups and a semi final didn't need this. Sitting 3rd in div points with another ProAm in April. Not sure I can get this done. Not looking good for Rockingham either

Ouch, I hate to see that. The broken valves give some backing to the "broke" cause rather than the "burned up" nitrous failure. But it can be tough to figure out what came first, the chicken or the egg. Heat failure or valve train failure could be related. I really have no idea on this one.

Re: It ain't purdy... :( - 02/16/10 10:24 PM

Im not sure it was a NOS problem. They usually show other signs before this happens, or at least should be signs there now. Id look at the other cylinders and valves and see what you can find...
Your a smart dude, you will find the problem, and have it up and running in now time...
sorry about your luck..

Don't think that was due to nitrous.

Re: It ain't purdy... :( - 02/17/10 01:01 PM

well I feel a lot better today realizing the failure was probably not due to my inexperience with NOS. General consensus is broken valve. Half the lock from the intake valve is missing and the other is almost out.
Fortunately the block can be sleeved and the head can be fixed. Hoping the crank is ok??

Cool...... Are those the jets NX recommends? What's the fuel pressure? and that's 25 degrees while on the spray?
