Route 66 Chicago accommodations

I am planning on driving down to race at Route 66 in Joliet. I am not from the area but would like some advice on accommodations. Where is a good place to stay? Some of the write ups on hotels/motels on the south side of Joliet that are close to the race track do not sound very good. As a lot of you racers can attest to, it very discouraging to travel a long distance and then find out the hotel/motel is not very good. Any suggestions?

Consider staying in Tinley Park, IL, it's a short drive east on I-80, there are quite a few decent motels right near the LaGrange and Harlem Ave exits.

Another vote for Tinley Park and Orland Park Exits Harlem and Lagrange Road (Rt. 45). No problems at either.

Anyone else, I am kinda interested too.

Larkin has a hotel right off 80.
Harrah's and Empress casino are very close and both have hotels on property.
I55 and rt. 53 have a few hotels to choose from also.
