Hey, didnt I buy a 400 block off you a few years ago......If your going to look at a girdle, I would quickly get with Greg at BCR and reserve one of his. They are the best no doubt!

the problem i see with the other kits is that they require spacers to get the job done. Now your relying on the strength of some spaces. With the BCR kit once you install the mains, you deck the bottom of the block so the mains and block are flat. I know it seems a little pricey, but its not even close to a comparable product. I know how hard you mud guys are on stuff.... especially you....

I think you can get a thick girdle only from Mancini.

I used an internal pickup with the BCR cap/girdle sytem The girdle is notched for the pickup but I would have done it myself if it wasn't. I probably would have taken off less material too. FWIW, I think 1/2" thick is about right. Three-eighths seems thin and 3/4" just excess weight. The 3/16" aluminum one on ebay was hilarious.

why not step up to a good block that doesn't need bandaids

My mistake , the mancini girdle says external oiling.Bcr said they were out of kits.
Cab, going to limp this block by this year.
Daughter going to collage next year, give me time to gather some Good parts.

Like MAc65 said I used a Hughes Girdle on the 496ci 800+hp engine with Alum caps and Alum rods. Turned it past 7000rpm usually and never have seen any signs of walking.

Oh and it has a notch for an internal pick up....
