VIC 340 - 01/22/10 07:44 PM

I still have some epoxy work to do since this was used and the
previous owner "port matched" it already.

Re: VIC 340 - 01/22/10 08:54 PM

I'm running the same manifold on my 408. Did some top work ( blending in to the runners like yours), but not as much divider work ( knife edging )as you have. Not sure knife edging is a good thing or not? I did port match at the heads - in about 2".

I left all the dividers as round as possible.

I wish I could saw these in half and do it right.

LOL... you mean like this Vic.... but this is for a
W-9... I milled the upper to fit a 1050 dom... most
of all the port work is done but I need to put it on
my engine to weld it back together for proper fit
EDIT
this was a VERY early casting that I ended up with,
was really rough inside as you can see.... I didnt
want to do this one the hard way... WAY to much work

Yes but, it would suit me better to split it front and rear.

I think it looks real nice

You should see how sharp the port divider walls are on my X-Celerator

Thay were sharp to begin with and if I wanted them rounded like yours I'd have to take an inch out of them

Again real nice job and should work well for you

Thanks. The flash makes the finish look like &$%%*!

Hopefully, I didn't hurt it by more than 5 or 10 HP.

Interesting combo you are flowing there. 915 casting heads? Got a lot of stuff stuffed between the manifold and carb - open / 4 hole?? Duz the small pri / big sec cause any flow change between runners - verses a square bore carb?

Re: VIC 340 - 01/23/10 05:28 PM

That's a 596 head, ported Victor 340, 2" adaptor and a 1 3/8" primary Thermoquad.
Some old preliminary flow testing for reference.

Some things are eye opening, most are disheartening but, you have to keep digging.

I wish I had a dyno.
