here in cali we have chevy and fords,i never see any mopars,so i know alot of you guys here have them,and would like to get a idea what you guys run,and maybe 1 day i can have 1 here on the west coast.

Im a Drag Radial faker...been 9:77 so far on motor, $$$ and a parting of ways with the wife has kept me from getting it put back together and running it hard with NOS, but soon
I plan on running a local 275 D/R class, but have only had it out twice so far on motor only.

Here's my junk.... it's got Hoosiers on it right now. I couldn't get radials in the size I need when I got it going this year.
If you do a search under my name, I started a 10" tire Mopar thread earlier this year. I think it got up to 6 or 7 pages. I don't know how to post the link here though.

When it comes to "seriously" competitive drag radial cars in heads up style racing, don't think there are any around.. The leaf spring really hurts them, some are fast, but not gonna beat the best.
I think Randy, outlaw10_5 has been pretty fast in factory suspension, outlaw drag radial trim, but if your not in the 4.90s and 7's, your just fodder today.

I was just simply suggesting a reason that you may not see many. I can't change reality, you don't have to like it. As I said, maybe a Paxil might be in order if you can't handle it. 
I would LOVE to see some competitive DR and 10.5 Mopars. 
I believe that's what the original poster was referring to, as in "Heads up" racing, not bracket cars w/ DR or 10.5's...

Yes and no. We've been within 1/2 10th of an F body Camaro in the 60'. Still slower, but not by enough that the tree and the rest of the track still comes into play. However, in a perfect world, no leaf car has ever gone as quick, altho I have heard claims of 1.20-1.21 but the 1/8 times don't agree with the claim.
You can go a LONG way in a radial race by being consistant. Immokalees two year radial champ (05-06) is a nitrous small block Mustang that goes 5.10's every pass. This years (07) champ has only been in the 4's once in a Nitrous F body Camaro.
The Dakota goes 5 teens and went to the semis at Sunshine at their radial shootout of 32 cars.
The 1/8th record is like a 4.83 and the 1/4 is a 7.38. Nitrous Camaro 1/8 and turbo Mustang 1/4. The majority of the radial cars are not in the 4's in the 1/8th however.
And my green junk below...
BTW, that pic is wheels up at Moroso in the heat of the day. On Super Chevy Sunday, my heads fit right in, lol.

Here is our Heads Up, All Motor, Stock Suspension 68 Cuda on 10.5 NON W's that has ran a best of 8.84 @ 154.60....Best 60' of only 1.322....medium tire spin at launch and sometimes goes bad in 1st-2nd shift also..
We are in the process of installing a 2.00 first gear in our 727 to hopefully help with our traction issues...
We hope to get into the 60's by end of year!!

In case you cant find M/T radials.......Hoosiers still went 1.29 60'
Run it on motor unless the competition forces you to spray it. You'll get some love there, different type car, its clean and those guys love Mopars. IIRC I think Rich owns a couple.

I got some new mufflers i want to try, im looking at it as a "free" test session, and maybe get on TV too....the track already asked me and some other 8,50 Index cars to make some passes at the intermission show...so im getting ready for test mode

I've got a 70 Challenger R/T drag radial car in the works from the ground up but cant get the pics to work (anyone want to help)? Gonna be a big inch wedge (or hopefully HEMI) with twin turbo's. I have twin 106's for it already. Doing the 25.5 gage this winter. Undecided if I want to go ladder bar or 4 link.

twin 106's are way to big for whatever you plan on doing...come back to reality and build something logical....hell, Tim lynch runs twin 91's on 632 inches and makes enough power to go 230mph.

I have not talked to Steve in quite a while. Yes he's member here and also owner of Predator Heads. A real good dude too. It went 9-teens on motor and 7.70's on spray. Thats truckin' for how heavy that thing is.

I have almost been full circle. I did drive a Ford for a bit bracket racing back in the day.
I don't know just never did get the Dart sold kinda stuck to me like super glue. So now that I have pretty much liquidated all of the GM product just a few odds and ends laying around the shop.
I don't care what it is....I just want to drive. Heck I started racing HO Aurora / AFX slotcars and Hot Wheels.....so there is no shame to my game. "Let's Race!!!"

That would be a great track to have it at. We were going to have a heads up race at their mopar meet a few years ago, but it never panned out.....

No progress yet but here's a couple of pictures from the day I bought it from Steven. Matt and i drove 1060 miles that day to pick it up and drive home. 
Lots of work planned this Winter as we are both planning new builds for our Bracket cars (408's) and we want to freshen up this years engines (408 and 360) for backups.

I know 315's are bigger than he 275's but they do not look that much bigger in the pictures. I am running 315's on a 10in. rim and was thinking about trying 275's.

I am running 315/60 Drag Radials and been a 1.33 60 ft foot brake,all motor pump gas small block drove to the track. But I am not fast enough to run in the 10.5 mopar class. And it is a truck.

Why? Guys are going 4.17 to the eighth on 28/10.0 tires. That's like low 6s to the quater at 225+. I think he will be fine if he has a good chassis tuner.

I,d have to say the cost of the geardrives verses pullies/belts as well as rad placement. All our local tracks are nhra and the rulebook says rad must be in stock location for body style, our tech guy said he was ok with the positioning of the rad the way it is now. I see a lot of trunk mounted rads and that was are initial plan but since the car sees mostly street duty we were hoping the upfront rad would aid cooling. Car isn't really a max effort deal just hoping to someday run a 7.99 which should be doable on 10.5s

Yes, previous setup was basically a stock 440 with a cam and two turbos. ran a best of 9.50 and was a blast to drive low maintenance and quiet enough to not draw unwanted attention. This build was originally supposed to be twin 88s and may be going that route again if we don't like the procharged deal. Lack of boost control and obnoxiously loud with the blower may force the change.

4.69@155 in the 1/8 mile on a 275 Pro while weighing 3478#. Car is currently undergoing a facelift. New carbon fiber front end, doors, and a fiberglass dash. Engine is at Bennett Engines getting freshened and dynoed. Transmission is at Proformance getting overhauled. Also putting 17" wheels on the front.

Wow I think it will really look good with the 17s up front. Should run a little better with the updates too, can't wait to see it. You going to make Georgia in feb?

This is one of my favorite threads to browse. Can we get some updates going?
Here is a bit of a throw back to about 10 years ago with my small tire slow car (really slow back then) This was from the day I actually won money with it, and decided to try my skills at body work and paint on the cheap!
A more recent one from a couple years ago... The tow bar in front of the car was my dads from the 60's
Last summer, rolled it out and blew the dust off it.
Here are some pictures of some of our small tire customer cars.
W5 468ci. in the purple dart, And his brother's Demon we helped out with, a W2 318ci. car.
W9 421ci deal going in this duster, this was just after finishing the cage a few months ago...
F2 Procharged R3 deal in this dart.
That's what I have for now! Lets see some more small tire MOPARS!!

Mine is slow compared to most of the cars posted, but very few tracks out here, mine is just a mid-10, N/A, pump gas car, 3850lbs with me in it.

I'm putting together a 73 Cuda and want to do the radial tire setup. I have the leaf springs now but can change to any type setup, what would you guys that race these tires suggest. I have Cal-tracts to use if ok.

You need to pick a few groups or classes you would run in and go by the rules. Stock suspension can be very fast

Yes, was told to take it home, no cage or harness.
Only chance I have now with this car is Wednesday nights as the rules get relaxed a little but I may only get one more crack at it. The car has been .4 quicker to half track on a back off pass so there is a very low 10 there plus I have just fitted a tunnel ram with twin 950 TRE carbs, not even tuned yet but I can feel the extra power, would love a 9.99 slip

I still to this day have no idea who made that thing. Some how or another I spotted it leaned up against a trailer at the Nats years ago in the swap meet.

Nice car, what is the wheel size and back spacing, also width of rear, flange to flange. I have stock b-body Dana for a Cuda and not sure of wheel size to use(not under car yet) do you use same wheel for both size tires? Thanks

Thanks. Don't remember the rear end with for sure? I think it was 52" from flange to flange. Wheels are 15 X 12 with a 6-1/2" b.s. and mini rubbed to the frame rails.
I was thinking about a raised T/A hood like yours but don't know if it will clear my T Ram yet or not.
