Shipping Tires - 01/04/10 03:58 AM
Anyone ship tires before? I have a set of 10.5x31Ws I need to ship to Oklahoma. Whats the best way to do this? Obviously you dont box them. Any help would be great.

Quote:I bought two of those same tires from PoppaJ last year, they came ship from Fed EX Ground tape together or individually, I can't remember which, sorry. Fed Ex Ground is way cheaper and faster than UPS or the U.S. Post Office usually, especially if you prep it and drop it off at a Fed Ex Ground location

We ship LOTS of slicks. For us U.P.S. is WAAAAY better than FedEx. They (FedEx) proved to be VERY unreliable for us. U.P.S. was always a day faster on delivery and pricing has always been very similar. The post office was the worst on big items for us. We switched everything over to U.P.S. Not sure how the experiences vary so much but U.P.S. is far better than FedEx for our shipments. We just put the label on the box and tape over it although if you have a box you save the "non-box" fee.
