A Body Roll Bar Question

I'm looking to install a 6-8 point roll bar in my 68 Dart in the future.Looking for feedback regarding the different makers(S&W,Morrison,Comp Engineering,etc.)of the kits.Keeping the back seat and have the rear bars go thru the speaker opennings.Also the thoughts regarding swingout bars for easier access.I plan on keeping my front bench seat. Any information would be great,Thanks.

This is simply my opinion, but for what you are looking to do with specific rear bar locations, swing outs and wanting to keep everything high and tight I would have someone bend one up and install it in your car for you. The cost is not that much more, and you will end up with a product you are much happier with

I have the S/W kit and I bought the rear seat saver option.The fit was really good and I would use them again.But no matter how good the kit is sometimes they get tweaked in shipping so its never a put in and weld deal.Mine went in nice and my door bars dont move but I can get in and out with no problem.IMO the set up is more solid with no swing outs.

I like the look of the S&W setup,do you have the part# info on yours?

I agree on the S&W kit, stay away from comp engineering cages, I have been there, done that with my Duster.

The S&W kit is real nice.Get there swing out kit too.

Do yourself a favor & have a shop bend one up for you. Most kits won't have the bars bent High & tight for you like you want, having the rear bars in the far corners, going in between the top & bottom of the rear seat. Have the shop run the rear bars parallel to the roof, bent at the "C" pillar, then run down throught the rear speaker holes---it's cleaner, less obvious & easier to get into the back seat.

The S&W fits just as tight as one bent at a builders shop.Damn there is only so much room.If the guy was asking for a complete CM cage with all the bells I would argree.But he is not.Most shops cannot even buy the tubing for what the S&W kit cost.

I used a Jeg's 8 point bar, It fit real good.

I bought a S&W kit for my duster it was about
$350 with shipping to California.
I have swing out bars on both sides and no rear
seat, but the back bars did need to be modified
to fit correctly.
