Drag racing could've used a few more Tom Hoovers. Met him at a match race at the Motorplex in the eighties, showed me and my son around the car. Strapped the boy in for pictures (he STILL has photo, framed, in his den), and on top of all that, a year later at the national event, Tom remembered us and greeted us by name. The kind of racer you couldn't help but pull for. Thank You Tom.

Man, that sucks.........he was a great guy......I worked for him for a year when Cory Lee was driving for him.......At the time, his car was considered one of the "low buck" cars, but he always had nice parts on the car, or he wouldn't run it.......

Met Tom back in '83 while wife and I were standing at top end of Tuscon dragway watching the cars fly by.
Nice guy.

Tom Showtime Hoover fans: I'm Paige Hoover, Tom's daughter. While we're touched by the phone calls and messages we've received this morning, I am abundantly pleased to report that Tom Hoover is alive and well in MN on this snowy MN Christmas morning.

It is not very often you can read these kind words from fans, and Dad has really enjoyed the outouring of messages! Thank you all.

Sadly, Tom lost his brother Bob on Dec. 23, who was also a co-owner of Hoover Wheel Alignment, hence many are confused.

Life is short, so enjoy the season!

What I remember most about the Hoover pit was the great looking girls always in his entourage. I imagine that you may be one of them. It's great to hear that Tom is alive and well. He always looked like a tough bird and it was a little surprising to hear that he had passed.
