I'm gonna try for a ticket - I have several friends that are, also. Norwalk is a lot more "user friendly" with their cart policies, etc. than US 131 is, which I had a ticket for and couldn't attend for health reasons.

No idea really. That was only really a small part of it though. I loved the original format of the show. But with what they've done now and who they brought in it's not the same.

I had left the link for the ticket page in my browser overnight, and when I clicked it at noon I was in. Started filling out the info and came across the 'service' that is handling it all. Since I had ran at the Pinks at 131 last year I had already had a password for this 'service', but couldn't remember it, since I had only used it once, a year ago. They wouldn't let me proceed without the password so I had to have them send it to my email address. Wife was on other computer and pulled up my email and got the password. Proceeded a page or so further and got booted out of the process. Probably ran out of time. Nice.

Ditto here - getting onto the site was hit-and-miss for about an hour before tix went on sale. Kept on coming back Summits server was overloaded. By the time it went through tix were gone. Oh well - THEIR LOSS, RIGHT

I tried to lock onto the website too, Pat. Once you would hit refresh to reset and check for tix, it would bounce you out, because their server was overloaded.

I got down too the final checkout procedure and it couldn't locate server. I kept going back to the previous page and clicking the continue button till it located their server. It was 12:11 when it finalized the sale and sent me the conformation number. So, did I make it in or is there a chance that I will be determined too late and my account refunded?

Last time they were here I got in as an alternate. If a spot opens up they will call down the list. I think I got a call 2-3 weeks later asking if I wanted a spot.

I got in last year as an alternate as well. I didn't get the call for a few months, never expected it, it was that late after registration. But I highly recommend getting on it. Sometimes they open up more spots to a field of 500 later on. I know that's how I got in for Norwalk last year, they raised the field count and then with all the duplicate registrations, I was in the field.

two years ago when they were here my wife sent an email to them at a couple of minutes after 12 and got put on the call list. they said it was first come first call. i got the call one week before the show. i went and had a great time.
this time i was prepared. i sent an email the first time the web site locked up. i went back to the web site and got through just like a previous post said i clicked on the link at the bottom to go to the basket i think it was. i got my confirmation. a few minutes later i got an email from the track letting me know i was on the call list. i responded back asking them to check. they did and said i was in. during the excitement of it all i forgot to buy a ticket for my wife. oops! i did go back later and get one. i called the track after work and was told that by going back later to buy the extra ticket was better because the larger your order is the longer it takes.

That happened to me also the first few times. I just kept calling till someone actually picked up. Supposively they are taking 200 alternates.

You guys on the alternate list will probably get in, that's how I got in the 2008 Norwalk Pinksallout, and I was WAY down on the alternate list, I'm talking over 200 people down.
It was a miserable fiasco racing in it last time but saturday was pretty fun and we got our millisecond of fame on tv so it's worth it.
The Pinksallout guys love Mopars and even if they do goofy things on tv sometimes you won't even be thinking about that when you make a couple passes in front of 30,000 people.
Last time I was only running 10.80's and got outran by a station wagon.
Hopefully I can redeem myself. Lol!

I'm not sure all of the drivers entries are being bought through the tracks website. The tracks website directs you to TIX.COM, who actually sells the tix. I keep on hearing about people that skipped the tracks website and got them directly from TIX. I went onto the TIX website several minutes after the tix were sold out on Norwalk, and they still had DRIVERS ENTRIES posted, but when I went to checkout, it said sold out. But it was obvious that the entries were for sale on another site than Norwalks. If they are going to do that, they should post it on their site for all to see. And it would also make sense that a place in the business of selling tix would be better set up for a rush of sales than the tracks website, which has to re-direct them, anyways.

When I tried yesterday, I got all the way to the checkout , then got booted. When I tried again it said event was sold out. Today , I get an email that says my tickets for Pinks All Out are reserved. So , I guess that means I got in afterall !

sat by the computer at work that is super fast and got in
went for the experience and to partake of the atmosphere at a nationally televised event
lucked out and got picked for the 32
no skill involved to get picked other than low 10 cars are popular with pinks
won the first round and made it to the final 16
you can say what you will(not meant to anyone in particuler)but that was the coolest thing i ever did with my car and i wish everyone could feel what it was like to come down that return lane in front of that many people and hear the cheering even if i got spanked the next round
imagine what jerry "moparpitbull" hayes felt like when he went all the way
it may seem like a bunch of BS but

So many people wanted to appear on PINKS: All Out, a drag racing reality show that airs on SPEED TV, we had phone system and Web site outages in the city of Norwalk as an estimated 9,000 racers tried to grab one of 425 available driver entries. Entries for the televised event went on sale Monday, December 7 at noon, and sold out in two minutes.
An episode of PINKS: All Out will be filmed at Summit Motorsports Park August 27-28, 2010. The show last filmed an episode at the track in June, 2008.
"We had a lot of people simultaneously trying to get one of these driver entries," said Bill Bader, Jr., president of Summit Motorsports Park. "When you have that many people calling and using the Web site at the same time, it creates a huge load on the equipment." Many residents on the east side of the city of Norwalk lost phone service and Internet access mid-day Monday as the demand interrupted service.
"There were only two other times when the city of Norwalk experienced this much load on the phone and Internet lines," Bader continued. "The first was when a local resident appeared on American Idol and people were voting for him, and the second was when tickets for the first PINKS: All Out event went on sale in December, 2007."

With all the confusion the other day about them selling out in 2 minutes and hearing others say they were being called and emails sent to them saying they were in and I haven't got one. Well Friday I called the track and verified my confirmation number. The lady was very nice and understanding my concern said if I got a confirmation number and they emailed me right after I completed registration, I was in. She went ahead and checked my number and said yep, you are in. So I quess that email right after registration was the only one I will be getting.

they park you based on the number you get when you pull into linders lot. they do it this way so they can keep track of who's parked where in case the cameras need to find you.. so they say!
last time we pulled around to the gate and bader sr told us to go around the paved side was full. we got parked past the finish line in the grass on the other side of the track. it wasn't too bad though met some nice people over there as it seems we always do when we go to big events like this.
one tip for every one. when you get into linders lot go hang out at the front of the lot and wait till your number gets called for your credentials. when we got parked in the back hundred acres of linders lot the guy told us to hang out with our rig and the line would move forward.. it didn't! i was late to get my stuff. this time i am going to leave my house early and try and get into linders lot when they open it.

they park you based on the number you get when you pull into linders lot. they do it this way so they can keep track of who's parked where in case the cameras need to find you.. so they say!

Yes they park you, we were spread all over the whole property, 340Rick was on the other side of the track.

usually linders lot opens at 8am the first day of the event. you may want to verify this with the track before the event. i have heard that the cops will issue ticket if your parked on the street... just what i have heard.
