Thought you would be interested in this.
It's amazing that a hemi could have good torque at this rpm out of the corners.

Very interesting, indeed!

I think it could be the long project of Glenn Bunch? http://www.glennbunch.com/

Glennīs Hemi is 4.5 bore x 4.5 stroke, 572CID, 11.5 comp, with Weber carbs.

Glenn writes on his pages the following: "On a chassis dyno, I got 600ft lbs at 3000RPM and 730ft lbs at 4900RPM at the rear wheels".

Absolutely the greatest stuff!!!

Yep, that's Glenn. He's loca; here in southeast Virginia. If I'm not mistaken, he'd owned that road race Challenger since it was new, has done all the upgrades and build himself. It's an amazing car in person.

Just to dredge up an old post because I couldn't find the one on this car from 4 years ago....

Just to prove how bad azz this Challenger is, it just won the GRM Ultimate Track Car Challenge. The premise is simple, invite some of the fastest GT style road race cars to the track, let them have at it, fastest car wins. Period. The Glenn Bunch Challenger beat Ferraris, Vettes, Vipers, and more. Even the much vaunted Steilow Camaro fell victim to Hemi power.

The body work has changed again and while I'm sure some will complain about its appearance, under all that fiberglass are the doors, roof, and B pillars of a 74 challenger. Engine has also changed to a 572, all alloy monster, that is still naturally aspirated.

2nd vid down shows it on the grid at the start and sneaks in a few clips during laps.
4th vid down shows it walking away from a 650 horse Viper ACR-X.
3/4 of the way down is a still shot of the front of the car.

New school chally also! - 04/03/11 12:57 PM

The car had some issues keeping it from running in the main heats, but there was also a 2010 Challenger at the same race, at least the qualifying laps. Not sure what engine, but sounds like a R5P7. S/F....Ken M
