I'm # 034. I'll be getting there early Friday morning, so hopefully if we get a few of us together we can grab a block of pit spaces.

Yes, I agree, but after you've been there about an hour your nose gives up and it becomes tolerable
As an event, I had a great time at the one up in Sonoma last year even though they didn't pick my bracket. Now I'm faced with decidint\g to be consistent and run motor only or be faster with the N20 at the risk of inconsistency. They sem to choose faster brackets and being in the 10's may give me a better chance. I can bump the spray up a bit more and easily get into the low 10's...

eh i thought about goin to watch, but after watching pinks today it just seems like its goin to crap and rich always seems wayy too dramatic, let me know if you make it, ill be rooting silently from my house for the fellow mopar people.

I'll be there, probably Thursday morning and my reg number is 007... However if its ran like Pacific, the reg number means absolutely nothing!!!
When we rolled into Pacific, there was a guy standing in the street handing out a pit entrance number.. mine was #112.. Which meant I had to sit in the parking lot until 111 racers registered and made their way to their pit spots..
Once it was my turn to register, I received a numbered tech card... this number was 114 and that was my race number for the entire weekend.
One twist they added this year is when you register, you had to guesstimate how fast your car would run.. Then they gave you a different color tech card and categorized you by letter..
A=12.50 - 12.99
B=12.00 - 12.49
C=11.50 - 11.99
D=11.00 - 11.49
and so on... The class I selected was the E class, 10.50 - 10.99
If you have no clue what your car will run, or if you are off on your estimate, it doesnt mean anything to your hopes of getting picked to the show... They just want to see cars somewhat equally matched go down the track in qualifying and the two rounds..
I with you Dan, I can run motor only and be fairly consistent or I can hit the bottle and God only knows how the car will run.. So far this year, I believe there has been one 9 second class and one 11 second class with everything else being low to mid 10's...
Also, this will be the final race of the season, so I'm sure they'll want to finish with a good class..

I'm busy making some large decals,vehicle wraps and T-shirts for contestants......I'll be down friday morning....not racing just helpin out some friends with exhibition cars....they are running Nostalgia TF and FC plus tons of other old school rides.

For those that have received their drivers packet... Is there anything inside that is important to bring to the track?? such as wristbands, or anything to verify that we were accepted??
I seemed to have lost my packet... its not where it should be and if needed, I have a couple of weeks to find it..

It is your confirmation letter only. You have to trade it at the gate for your entry packet. Call them in advance if you can't find it and make arrangements ahead of time. You may run into problems at the gate otherwise.

I did Sonoma...
Day 1 is tech and generally 2 runs of test and tune. No cameras or TV crew there yet. Day 2 the cameras get there, you do the "driver's meeting" for the camera and then gert sent back to the pits. One timed run that you get a slip for, then an arm-drop run that you don't get a slip for. After all the cars run their second run, they go and pick the class, then announce the car numbers over the PA, but not the bracket. Since you don't know what your car ran the second time, you don't know the "exact" bracket or what time would be considered "too fast". They expect you to hang it all out there every time, and if you were, it will be a non-concern, if you were bagging it, you may inadvertently go too fast. I know, if you just win by a bumper, you should still be fine, but that's their reason for doing things that way.
Anyway, once the 16 or 32 are picked, it goes just like you see it on TV. At Sonoma they did 32 cars. They pitted each of the 16 faster cars with one of the 16 slower cars to give the "underdog" a chance to get in the show by treeing the faster car. The slower car should not be able to outrun the faster car without going too fast, but if they treed them they could get there.

That's basically how they did it at vegas when I went. But then, they didn't do 32 car fields. They actually couldn't decide between hi 9's and hi 10's, so they chose two 20 car fields and ran one more time on arm drops. The hi 9's were all over the place and the 10's were tightly grouped, so they chose 16 of the 20 for the show. Diego-Ted was chosen in the 20 car hi 10's group, but had hurt the motor on the second time trial.

This year, they've changed up the format just a little.. Expect a timeslip on Saturday's 2nd pass, which is Rich's arm drop...
And the other change is the floating minimum that you must beat.. Up on the pedestal at Rich's feet, is a small time board that holds a minimum number, if you dont beat this number, you go home.. its that simple!!
At Pacific, I ran an 10.8x, 11.3x and 11.1x... the floating minimum they chose for me and my opponent was a 10.98...

Personally speaking, I lost the confirmation letter that was sent a long time ago, but was able to call the office and the nice lady promised to mail out a duplicate, so I should be good to go..

JFYI, Read over on the Infineon board if you tow in, in a motorhome they are charging you to camp. Something like $50 - $75 for the weekend.

Keith, As we entered into the waiting area for Pinks All Out in Seattle, the first the we received was a numbered car.. This was our car number, tech number and pit area number..
If you plan to pit next to a buddy, then you two must arrive at the same time..

We need to get in the entry lines together... Gates open at 7 according to the schedule
If we can setup a time, I'll meet up with Glen on his way north and then we'll pass the word on to Rob and Don with an ETA so we can all meet up at the same time and therefore get pitted together.

I was really surprised to get an email now that they had 65 more openings and sent out 100 entry forms to people on the waiting list.
I got the entry form printed and filled out and im going to fax it over today. I'll know you're in for sure monday when I call Famoso to check.
Right now in the race ive got my car (Notchback Foxbody mustang with LS1) and 3 customers cars...should be fun.
We are all shooting for a 10 second class

We're planning on getting there Thursday around 16:00 when they say they're opening the gates.

Just found out from a good friend that I'll be there video taping for Speed Scene Live, so if all works out we'll be on the starting line in the thick of things. We'll also be interviewing for them also so if I can find the Moparts parking I will definately hook you guys up to get you on the show. My friend doing the interviewing is a Chevy guy but he understands the Mopar addiction, so if we find you don't be to mean to him.

Just to let you guys know, when i got there around 6:30 pm ( last night ) it was only 85 , night temps was low 70s high 60s and getting colder.
the
shells or whatever it is, was not there again.
Lots of nice mopars out last night

so I am going up to spectate and not have a car there.

I'm sure it's the money thing...they make more this way. They know the demand is there and they don't have to please anyone as they come once and then are gone to another track. I'm just going because I havn't raced in a year and a half and the season ends soon. I have no delusions that I have any chance at winning....lol.

Rob,
Have you done anything to the car? What are you expecting to run? I don't think I'll do the nitrous, since I only have one bottle and If I were to actually make it and go rounds I would most likely run out about the time it really mattered. I'll likely be running 11.3 - 11.4's in just the motor.
On the other hand, I don't see them doing the season finale show with anything less than a 10 second group...

Dan...I have the same dilemma as you...
I have a bigger solid cam now than when I ran 11.60's(old one was a little hyd)....and I have an electric water pump now and a little bigger carb (probably won't help any). Plus I have my 10" wheels now so a little more footprint (probably will just make the car more stable on the top end). I would be dissapointed if I don't run sub 11.40.
But...My nitrous is all hooked up now too. I have a 15 lbs bottle and thought about running a 100 shot....and if I somehow made it to the finals (since they usually pick 10 sec cars)....I'm sure I could bum a bottle off someone that was already out (my brother or you or someone...lol)....if I'm out...likewise, my bottles yours!
I don't know...it's just a thought. I've been trying to make the same decision.

It's confirmed, we're going to play with the spray... I just got 2 more bottles loaned to me and between us we'll have plenty. There's almost no way all 3 of us will be in the show. I'm planning on being 10.70's, Don can run 10.50's I think, and Rob has never tried out his system, but for the sake of argument will be somewhere in that range. 2 .10's is a wide range...
I think I'm going to get a nitrous delay box so I can mash it off the line and have it hit .10 out rather than my redneck method of just pressing the gas slower and hoping to be consistent.

I have a delay you can have, its a Auto Rod Controls 1402 you can set it from .1 to 1 second. just let me know.

Are we taking bets whether my 8 3/4 will survive the weekend? The Dana isn't quite done yet. Hopefully the delay will soften the driveline shock.

28x10.5 ET Drags. 4.10's on a spool with 35 spline axles in a 742 case. It's held up so far to 175 shot a few times.

you should not have any issues holding the power to the ground. Just make sure you check the air pressure in them before you go to the line.

Jeepmon and I made it in. Arrived about 5, finally got pitted about 8. They could use a little organization in how they let cars in.
They had multiple lanes that they didn't keep track of, so some waited a long time to get in while other lanes got in as soon as they got there. We weren't in that category.
Saw mopargilley and grapeape in line, not sure where they are pitted. Don and I are on the main drag, on the right about a hundred yards or so down from the staging lanes.
Tech starts at 8:00. They call you up to tech by ET group.
