Hey Bob,

Do you guys even know what size tire he runs?
It's only a 10.5, it's barely hitting the quarters so they're doing some preventive maintenance here.

Plus not everyone has a mega-dollar car and perfectly prepped tracks. If my 10.5's don't start hooking soon I'll be bolting on some steam rollers.

It looks good so far Rick and Bob, I'm headed out this evening to get my new Phoenix 10.5's mounted and balanced!

If you can't hook what you got with a 10.5 you need to find a new hobby. And anybody who cuts up a perfectly good e-body for a little tire rubbing is out of their mind in my book. Thats whyc rubber hammers were invented.

the car has been back halfed for years with 2x3 frame rails and a alum floor from the fire wall back, so i wouldnt say we are cutting up a prefect car.

i already took the to the quarters for the rubbing a little alter on the quarters and some fresh paint and she will be good as new

OT but when is someone going to make a "stock suspension" leaf spring only class? There would be some pretty cool iron out there other then all the Chevy powered Mustangs and F-bodies.

As far as cutting it, it's already cut and basically value less. Who cares? It is what it is.

Just got done installing new shocks and tires tonite, old shocks were cheap and the old tires were completely shot, plus I only have 3 1/4 mile passes on this motor. Should hook now but if it doesn't I'll take up Bird Watching again.

Thats my pops ride and I talk smack to him on a daily basis about the 10.5 w's and sissy sticks. I grew up around that kind of car, I still work on alot of them here at the shop but that is old school 90% of the mopar faithful grip their MP catalog at night and can't stand change or innovation, and I'm still stock suspension, small tire guy. All these traction issues and bigger tires blow me away

I have 28 by 10's(smaller than most anybody)stock suspension, and hook anywhere all the time.

I think people throw in the towel way to soon on traction issues

Looks great. Don't worry about cutting it up, it is just an E-Body hehehehehe.

I don't know how I am gonna live with my self and my 33x10.5w on the Cuda. I don't think the leaf springs and small tires would do very well against the stroker and Jerico. We made sure the tubs were big enough to go to 14's if I ever decide to go bracket racing.

Good for you, Have fun bracket racing in the 10's. That is so stupid I could drink a beer, smoke a ciggarette, and wave at my freinds as I'm going by. Do you even have to shift? You guys have no idea what racing is. I bet the stands get packed when they call super pro to the lanes. everybody wants to watch that.

Re: Choppin on the Challenger !!!!!! - 08/21/09 08:24 PM

Kinda like making a big deal about being able to run high 8's on drag radials when there are guys out there with $150,000 cars running low 7's on them.
At least all of my bracket racing buddies have a chance to win without mortgaging their house.

Oh and for the record I do shift my car and I don't have a box. Come on over some time the waters nice

Mike, this one kinda looks like a big tire bracket car!

I like it.

[/qu

Thats my pops ride and I talk smack to him on a daily basis about the 10.5 w's and sissy sticks. I grew up around that kind of car, I still work on alot of them here at the shop but that is old school 90% of the mopar faithful grip their MP catalog at night and can't stand change or innovation, and I'm still stock suspension, small tire guy. The only way I will ever own a big tire car is if it runs 4.50's at at least 175.

Looks to me it could use a bigger set of tires to fill up those wheel wells.

Your funny, I'm not even gonna start on that ride. I got too many other good e-arguments going.

Maybe one day I could take your pinion angle setting classes. I could prob. test at genius levels after I left. Now thats funny.

Re: Choppin on the Challenger !!!!!! - 08/21/09 08:35 PM

Dude I am just razzin ya anyway. I don't pretend to be better than anyone else racing out there. I was fortunate enough to make a profit that year. I like bracket racing because on any given day I can go and take out the guy that has 5 time world champ on the side of his trailer.

I like heads up racing as much as the next guy but I do what I can afford to do. I just hate the fact that there is always some joker that spends 5 times as much on a car as everyone else and ruins the class such as the low seven second drag radial guy or here comes Billy Glidden in a pro stocker that has 10.5's on it.
Plus I got a family, a job, a side business. Who the heck has time to do all that maintenance.
We did appreciate that tow rope for the failed fuel pump though

Its all good, I love a good e-argument as I said earlier. All the mantinence and breaking stuff and trying new stuff everytime out, every race to go faster is 75% of the fun heads up racing. And I do race against people that have as much in their engine as I have in whole car and outrunning them is pretty sweet too. Those guys hate it when the stock block, stock valve angle headed mopar outruns a 470ci all aluminum SB2 motor in a mustang. its great family fun

you will never see me get my panties in a wad cause I don't wear them I can understand a heads up racer not liking bracket racing because most of them couldn't cut a consistent light if they had to and sure as hell can't make the car run the number over and over

I don't try to run the same thing. Everytime I pull in the beams I want to go faster than the last timer I went down the track isn't that the point of racing? please elighten me what kind of enjoyment you get out of trying to run the same number? it just escapes me.

I think the point he's trying to make is that it takes a driver to win bracket races, it takes a fast car to win heads up. I personally enjoy both, but you have to respect the talent of some of the better bracket racers. I know I have none which is why I'm building a heads up car as well

it's about competition and having fun with your friends. not real easy to win a bracket race these days. takes a little skill. anybody can hop in a car and mat it and hope they dont tear the wall down. I do enjoy watching the 10.5 nuts though. kind of like watching nascrap and waiting for the big one

I would love to get some great bracket racers in a small tire car when the launch retard is coming off and the big 2nd kit comes on and the car starts smokin and shakin the tires and the other guy is right beside you and the first one to the finish line wins. thats my kind of driving, not judging the finish line.

....fake hp solenoids.......
let's analyze that; stokers, big cylinder heads, blowers, turbos, tunnel rams ,multiple carbs. all serve one purpose, pull/push more oxygen into the combustion chamber thusly helping in the burning of more fuel which in turn makes more hp. How is nitrous any different, it introduces oxygen into the motor. Doesn't sound fake to me...
admit it your scared
now the irony; you feel you need a tire that's within a inch of what a prostock runs in the sixes with to run a ten or even nine second car, admit it your scared.
now for the fun part, I know leigh is scared to read my posts and has me on ignore, somebody quote my post---just for fun

Re: Choppin on the Challenger !!!!!! - 08/22/09 02:55 AM

Not to change the subject, but heads up.. is your car going to be a 275/60-15 Drag radial car? Here on the West Coast we have a class in the PSCA that is called Wild Street and that is the tire that they race with. Its the funnest heads up racing to watch. Thats what I would build. I think some of the 275 Drag Radial cars are DEEP in the 7's.

I don't keep up with that junk I am an old big tire bracket racer

Maybe one day I could learn about pinion angles from you. I bet I could get a job at NASA afterwards huh? Maybe then you could tell about how wrong my torqe converter is? Lots to learn just a dumb heads up racer.

thats very possible boy somebody must have hit you with a big hammer giving you an attitude problem or do all heads up guys act like you?

It's probably the accumlative effect of all the hard guardrail hits, when the "real racer" tires broke loose after the fake hp solenoids opened up. Top that.

I think your the only person that understands that.

Are you 340srule's brother? Such a wretched personna has to be isolated to relatives.

That must only be funny in Minesota?

There are two n's in MiNNesota.

....fake hp solenoids.......
let's analyze that; stokers, big cylinder heads, blowers, turbos, tunnel rams ,multiple carbs. all serve one purpose, pull/push more oxygen into the combustion chamber thusly helping in the burning of more fuel which in turn makes more hp.

It's just you and 340srule in ignore, mostly because you're both strokes.

Damn, little Daugherty I that I was the bad guy on here. These guys are what's wrong with the Mopar racing hobby. They thing because your not on Moparts taking about pinion angle every other week that we(everyone) is a NOBODY.Steven is a very smart young man that can and has done more than most you key board races can dream of.
Lenny

P.S. bracket racing is Gay.

All any fast car needs is money and priorties. Any stroke can do it with just the first. Aren't there class cutoff's in gay's up associations? If so, why would any of you go slower than the fastest "bracket"? Yeah,..

you seem obsessed with gay talk and stroking, are you trying to come out of the closet here on moparts, that might be a first.
did we touch a nerve? you must have feelings of inadaquesy to get so fired up and start attempting to hurt the feelings of us breeders

Oh yea somebody quote this for me so our new sensitive friend can read this

Its been a racecar for the better part of 20 years. Rick cut that car up when it wasn't worth anything. I will just be sad to see that straight-as-an-arrow paint ground off.

Good luck, Rick. I hope Brad, you and the family are doing well. I'll be back to hangout in Columbus one of these days.

car is awesome but your attitude sucks to say the least.

well I appreciate it. I aim to please and entertain, you all get your panties in a wad way to easy. Oh and bracket racing sucks

you will never see me get my panties in a wad cause I don't wear them I can understand a heads up racer not liking bracket racing because most of them couldn't cut a consistent light if they had to and sure as hell can't make the car run the number over and over

I don't try to run the same thing. Everytime I pull in the beams I want to go faster than the last timer I went down the track isn't that the point of racing? please elighten me what kind of enjoyment you get out of trying to run the same number? it just escapes me.

Well hell thats easy in the classes you guys run...99.9% of you just need to pay the guy that built your car more money.
