Motor fixin to hit the dyno W8/All aluminum - 08/18/09 02:21 AM

Well the motor is supposed to hit the dyno this week at Jeff Taylor Performance. The motor had to be destroked to 360 inches to fit our rules. Installed a new 3.25 King crank, 4.175 diamond pistons, GRP Pro rods, Reground the cam to accommodate the boosted application. Motor will dyno without the F3-123 and geardrive. Will be dynoed with a carb and race fuel. Any one want to guess the HP it will make on muscle alone with only 9.5/1 compression and 360". I am thinking around 650 hp.

Congrats Marty. I know your ready to get back to 10.5 racing. How many ponies are you expecting with the boost?
You going to make it to the next WTTTF race? Got to beat that orange mustang!

We plan on making alot of hp with boost. We hope for around 1700 with 35#'s and the alchohol injection. The heads will move more air than the cubes can displace but it will be a beast for sure.. We are going to try to be out at the last race of the season if possible. We are planning on testing in Kennedale first. Also we will be testing convertors before we go after the 2010 Championship. The way they change the rules around here we will be outlawed before we make a race......

You guys show little faith in the little motor! I think it will be over 650 myself. It made 858 at 406 inches with 13 to 1 compression and a Nitrous cam. Soon we will see. Soon....

You are really just admiring the wires and yes it did make 858 at 406". But is not your average smallblock!!!!! I will need a need a new set of wires! Oh yes I forgot I shift it at 9200 rpm's. Will be around 10K with the Blower and shorter stroke.

I don't know what it will make, but with 9.5:1, the blower cam and less inches, you can bet it won't be impressive.....untill you throw the boost to it. I have been waiting to see what it does since my next engine build will be a procharged small block. I will guess 610hp though and massive amounts with the blower.

Thinking of doing the pro-charger route myself..already talked with Uratchko about the changeover...I would not go that big with the procharger..I would use a F1R or a F2..a F3 is a monster...

should make some steam

355 CID @ 9.5:1, with a fully ported set of heads, my guess is about 1.90 per CID or 674 HP...

Well the results are in. With a 1050 Dominator and no real tuning it made 675.7 hp all the way up to 7800 rpms. It would have done better but the carb was pulled off a 540 BBC with no jet changes. Next goes on the F3 and alchohol injection!
