what would u build 68 cuda or 70 challenger vote please - 07/12/09 06:30 PM

Talking with Tim at cynergy composits about building a top sportsman body. It takes alot of R&D to get a nice stream line body made like the 70.5 camaro they just put out.The point here is who would buy a nice promod/topsportsman body in a mopar style.Jeffers race cars has a 70 cuda body i hate looks like 70 cuda gone wrong,Hate the stratus body whats left!!!!So tim is going to put to paper some ideals i want to see a 68 cuda but he says 70 challenger would be better.Does anybody know how to build a pole so we can vote!!!!

i vote the 68 cuda. You can fall off a log and find a 70 challenger...besides i love A body cars. Try to spot all 3 in my sig pic

Build the one with the best aero first; that would likely be the '68 fastback, but you'll have to fix the lower nose profile on either body.
I'm just a door guy, but it would be nice to see more Mopars in any class!

Well look at promod how many people run screw blower hemi but are forced to run any body but mopar there are none out there!!!! I would love to have more people say something on the subject so we can give feed back to Tim on this.Nobody makes a body package that looks good,That someone looks at it and says WOW like the 70.5 body or 68 body he makes now.The bodys he makes do not deform the ideal or style of the factory car.Just using the ideal for longer w/b or tire clearance w/o losing that stock look!!!So when someone looks at it they say hay theres a 68 cuda,Not what kind of car is that.I could not wait to find someone that can lay glass to do this for me!

Well I would vote for the 68 Barracuda as IMO they just look right as race cars. HOWEVER I have seen a couple that have been done(Hemphill's comes to mind)and did not like the way they turned out, just my opinion. I actually like the Jeffers Cuda, not real hip on his Duster/Demon body though. It does not retain a lot of the lines of the original, which to me the Cuda does. IMO doing a Challenger would just be duplication what is already out there with the Jeffers car.

I agree they lose the true looks and body lines it should not loose what we love about the car!! just a small adjustment for wheeel base and tire clearance.

If you dont want a 41 Dodge pro mod, then your right... theres not much out there. I personally think the 41 Dodge looks killer, but also like the Jeffers cuda. I like the hemphill cuda but think it could be improved upon, so my vote would be for the 68 'cuda.

it was a hard choice the Challenger and the 67-69 cudas are my two faves.. i sold my challey but still have the cuda so that made it easier..lol

Cynergy composites 70.5 body looks pretty close to the Cuda already. That might be the most affordable transition to transition that car .

Grill change and a small bit of trunk work and ta da.

I would buy one and do a BAE with twins.

Make it so number one.

i really like the 70 challenger as a drag car.
ive seen 2 or 3 now which really turn me on. theres something about the way they look with a nice set of slicks and a TA hood scoop or shaker hood.
