Econo W2s - 06/30/09 12:47 PM

I should know this but do the early econo W2 heads have dual bolt pattern for the exhaust like the race ones? or do they have a stock J or X head etc. bolt pattern?

Tony (70AARcuda) will probably know. I think he has a few sets.
I think they came either way though. I have a set of original
#810 castings (1977) race version with only OEM pattern.

I have a set of original
#810 castings (1977) race version with only OEM pattern.

Ive a set of those also, I think just like some of the heads today, they came in many different ways.

Ive always thought maybe mine were econos that might of been cut as both the econ and race were the same casting number.

IIRC, mine are late 70's vintage. I would have to check the casting #.

Dual bolt pattern.

Hey Jason .hows the Conn. Gang doing? Thanks for the info, a friend bought a Duster and I`m helping him a little it has Econo W2 heads 810 I think, he wants to go from Tubular Auto. headers to TTIs but hasn`t had the Tub. Autos off to see the bolt pattern he`s trying to figure out the bolt patern to order the headers. Evidently they only come in the standard bolt pattern. Are you and Ange going to Carlisle? I`m coming down Friday to walk around and race my truck at the Friday night Mopar race.

I have a set of org production plates to run the 2 inch tubes...

I would loan them out if one wanted to make a small run of them

The is also a guy on the bag from time to tome selling what he says are the last sets of a-body hooker super comps for the w-2, 2 inch pri tube headers, when I got mine $500 per set they were still listed on sum. racing site for a grand.

Good eye. Mine are the JR Big Tubes for w2's. I had to do some research way back to figure that out to find the adapter plates. I found out that Hedman bought JR back in the day and that is where I bought my adapter plates for my current headers. Hedman now calls the adapter plates "Hedder Sub Flanges"

I have them on my car.....it was a real adventure the first time I put them together.

I'm pretty sure they were originally available from Direct Connection.

I here you! My first set of race headers were 1 7/8 Hamburgers Perf. ( the same as Tubular Automotive which I have now )I bought them used from a friend with out instructions, what an adventure that was! I`m on my 3rd set and still don`t have the mounting sequence memorized.
