While Cleaning Out My Shop

While Cleaning Out My Shop - 05/14/09 04:25 AM

I knew I had a 440 with a blower on it sitting in
the corner but I have found a few things that I totally
forgot that I even had. Found a new 3.79 billet crank
4.0 forged new crank, 2 340 prod block, 340 aar block
and a few other smaller items(rocker sets, lifter
sets... all new). I've been 3 days now pulling equipment
out and I still need to get my mill moved( I have
to call a wrecker in to lift that). I still need a
few more days just pulling stuff out.... where does
all this STUFF come from
I didnt realize I had 6 engines in there( I knew I
had 3 on stands)

I'd be more than happy to take some of those items off your hands if you're looking to make some more room.

I picked that up for my 38 Ply street rod but when
I did some measurements I would have to cut the hood
to make it fit with air cleaners and I dont want to cut
the hood... I'll make a new hood first.... so that
engine is just sitting now. Right now the car has
a N/A 440 in it

Wonder if it would fit under my scoop

Well,I will be moving into my new shop now also.I know the major engine components I have that are out there, but I am hoping to find a few tools that I know I had and can't seem to find.
Show us some pics of the new shop once it is set up!

I'll be taking pics during the build... I'm starting
to get excited now.... up to this point the whole thing
has been nothing but a PITA... but within 1 week I should
start the demo work(as soon as I get everything cleaned
out)

One of the best things I ever did was buy a forklift to use around the shop, for the bigger things the cherry picker couldnt lift. It was handy with the shop add on build too!

Re: While Cleaning Out My Shop - 05/14/09 11:49 PM

Well I didnt get much done out there today, I had to
go pick up a trans for my brother. Got back home and
had to fix my lawn tractor(broke a front spindle off),
got that fixed up and cut the lawn. I'll get back
out there tomorrow and see what else I can find, any
thing thats left is small parts on my shelves but
could be some good stuff there. I still have to get my
chassis jig out... gotta jack it up and put the wheels
on it

Re: While Cleaning Out My Shop - 05/15/09 02:34 AM

Check the numbers on the AAR block. It might be someone's motor that might be worth something to them. Especially if the last 3 numbers are 401

Well I wont be looking at it for a month or so...
its buried behind equipment and I cant get near it

Tom I dont remember you dropping off any small block
stuff....

I've had a FEW guys inquire about selling some of the
stuff...... right now guys my main priority is getting
my new shop up and running before I even think of
selling any of it.... inquire later on... or I'll
put it in the for sale area (if I decide to sell)

How are you going to have time to build that AND be a mod. It's one or the other, buddy. Where is your dedication to the safety of our politically correct website ? (by the way it's still my favorite !)

It was like Christmas. I started a couple of projects
that I ended up not doing(changed directions) and
set the parts aside and forgot about them... I knew
I owned them but completely forgot about them. Alot
of the stuff was in boxes and I just didnt bother to
open the box to see what was in them. Its like they
say.... out of sight out of mind.... and for me that
seems to be true
