Line Hone Question - 02/12/24 05:33 PM

Greetings!

I am getting ready to take the block for machining.

The block already has main studs. I did not build, so I do not have the full history.

I am putting in a brand new crank. Should I have have it Line Honed?

Second question - If add a girdle later with new (longer) studs, does it need to be Line Hone again with the girdle?

Thank you for your thoughts.

Have it checked and repaired as necessary. Always better to know than assume for sure.

Which motor, BB or SB, Hemi?
If a BB wedge don't waste your time and money on a crank girdle, maybe replace the stock caps with aluminum caps and main studs work scope up twocents
Mopar BB wedge motors have a lot of strength in their main webbing stock, replace the cast iron caps and go racing until the RB main webbing cracks shruggy work
How about a new race block with cross bolt mains up work scope
