Doing the Texas Mile. Place your bets!

I'll be taking the V12 to the Texas Mile in March. Place your bets on what it'll run.

5090 lbs with driver.
2.65 gears now with Quaife torsen style diff.
5 speed auto.
Wheel dyno and 1/4 time slip attached.

If I get the opportunity to make multiple runs each day I'll let it shift itself at 5800 then start short shifting to see if it picks up. I'm still pretty sure running it out to 58 is a waste of time. Where would you shift it?

This thing is a monster that comes alive at speeds most cars struggle through. It just doesn't stop pulling.

I'll be happy with 160 - 170 mph, depending upon atmospherics.

My wild guess is 29.6 @ 172.

Not sure but you will have fun! I did a standing mile event back in 06 and it was a blast.

I think you will make it to 150 mph+ I was going to do the Ohio mile but then it shut down.Good luck and take video for us please.

My CL65. 6 liter twin turbo V12.

2023 was not a good year. Luckily, things have settled down and I'm finding time to do my stuff again.

I recently machined the new intake so it will be compatible with the new valley pan. The old pan was partially blocking the enlarged intake ports.
Now, I need to make sure the intake sits flat. After that, I'll flip the motor to address a minor drip from the external oil feed. Then, it will be resealing the timing cover and making adjustments to the EFI system for the new setup.

I'd like to get it back to the dyno this Spring if he'll have me. The change back to a conventional 4 bbl throttle body might ease his mind.

Looks like that motor is all done at about 5500. Is there something you can do to extend the rpm range by another 2000 RPM?

Any aero tricks, blocking the grilles partially, taping the gaps, rake, folding the mirrors, add a flat trunk blade, etc?

Personally I'd love to see the imperial in the mile.

I was naughty this morning but I had to go play in the cold air. Wheelspin made the car pull power through 65 mph. Looking at the G force line you can see it was still ramping up the power when it was time to shift to 3rd.

It'll be interesting to see what the Dragy says when it gets warm enough to put the summer tires back on.
