2 step reaction time

installed switch on brake pedal for 2 step rpm staging, was using stock brake light switch, (to much throw) was only able to do .110-.130, now best i can do is .060 4000 lbs cordoba, need to be at least .030, more starting line rpm ? smaller front tire? anything else?

what rpm was you leaving at? I say more 2 step rpm then go to the front tires.

I adjusted the depth of the brake pedal switch to get my reaction times down. Also went to a hard sole shoe to-remove flexing of the sole.

Check the wheelbase to make sure one side is not longer or shorter than the other side. Smaller front tires and better adjustable front shocks may help also

Honestly with a car that heavy and likely not to get any lighter soon, I would put the TB switch on the steering wheel or somewhere convenient. You will be more consistant, and be able to shim the switch better. Not that slowing it down helps, but you do get more range.

Normally when we need a quicker reaction time, we raise the launch rpm and or front tire pressure...That's about it. I have never had to speed mine up, I always had to figure out how to slow it down.

thanks, running stock, no thumb/finger switch allowed, switch is adjusted all the way down, now leaving at 2500, converter should hold till 3000/3500, will try all ideas

1000 rpm should be enough to help that 60 light. Raise it 200 RPM at a time and find the sweet spot.

Guys I know use an adjustable pressure switch in the brake line. Then you can set the pressure at different psi to release the two step.

Not knowing what button you have but the button itself can make a great difference. In my truck, I have a plain old Moroso type button (Delay bypass for reverser shifting ) and an adjustable height soft button (thru the delay box) my reaction times are much more consistent (and quicker) with the soft touch button than the Moroso button. If you put a soft/short throw button in the pedal it may help

I used a wide open throttle switch on my old S/P car as a backup on the trans brake button circuit, which ever one work first released the trans brake

Is the horn button considered a thumb/finger switch ?

i was using the horn button, (most likely would not pass tech) just a ground switch was going thru horn relay .140-.180 lights. switch on brake pedal is transbrake fast switch, will try tire pressure and starting line rpm

I never had much luck with the button on the brake pedal. I put a Dedenbaer on the steering wheel.

I drove a stocker one time that had a button on the pedal. Didn't like it either. Seemed to be inconsistent.

Quite honestly, at that low rpm a 2 step is a waste of time. Been there, done that.
