trans mount question - 08/01/23 02:01 PM

I've been searching all over for a trans mount that has about 1" thickness when compressed/fully tight. Because of some adjustment of engine mounts and a custom trans crossmember, I need to get the tailshaft of a 'glide a bit lower than what normal oem thickness range mounts will allow. I tried the thinner mount used on Muncie manuals, but that one is 1 3/8" thick when tight. I really dont want to run a solid mount. The car does not have a front or mid plate, and it has energy suspension motor mounts. I just wanted to see if anyone had found any alternatives like I described. Thanks!

use the thinner mount with alum spacer to get it where you want it

You can also fab up something using rubber shock biscuits possibly. I made a mount that way, to support the trans but allow for flex. 25 years, no issues, both mid and front plates.

I already tried the thinner style mount and it wasnt short enough. I think I am going to go with your idea and make one
