Still on cloud nine from this win. It is truly a dream come true. Weekend started out pretty rough, but we got better every pass to make it through the 93 car field! We updated the car over the weekend with the help of the Mod Shop and the consistency has vastly improved. We ran dead on the dial 4 out of the seven rounds to grab the Wally!
One of the slowest cars to ever win an NHRA divisional! haha

I won my first drag racing trophy in my mother's new at that time, 1964 dart 270 four door with the new that year 273 C.I. two barrel single exhaust that ran in the mid to high 17. second range. That was in the spring of 1964 at Mickey Thompson Fontana Drag city in Fontana ,CA, they were AHRA affiliated and I ended up being put in K/SA formula 3, 8 o 10 other street cars in that class and they would race us four abreast with a flag starter
