MSD / GM HEI Style Distributor - 05/25/23 02:49 PM
In my new 500 stroker build I installed a aftermarket distributor for the first time in any of my motors. Came with 3 sets of springs, I installed the lightest set. Also came with some stop bushings. Car starts up very nicely, just hit the button and fires right up, timing set to 36 degrees all in, that was at about 3,000. But, when idling small rev's up around 2,000 / 2,500 it seems rough & choppy to me. Get up past that and it's smooth as a whistle. What have others done with these style distributors? Should I have bushing / different bushing in there? Headed to test n tune tomorrow night for first time out with the car, wondering if I should make any changes before I load up and head out.

What is your initial at idle timing? Sounds a little fat off idle.

18 or 19 at idle, comes in all the way around 2,600. Ran the car tonight, pass on the motor was fine, few other things to work thru.
