dominator question - 04/20/09 05:41 AM

did a little welding for my crank evac system on the headers and had a explosion through the headers....so i am pulling off the tunnel ram which i am resealing the valley pan gasket and i am smelling gas from under the car and is dripping out the collectors...after i pulled the tunnelram all the intake valves are wet and the only valve closed was #8 which was full of gas....do you think i blew the power valves in the carbs?...i pulled out the power valves and the rubber looks distorted....what do you think??....would this cause gas to leak out??

Patrick knows his stuff but they can't fine tune your car from their shop. you have to do that. thats why you check.

Float levels to high, stuck needle valve, loose gasket at PV or PV plug.

how does that work?.....what is involved in doing that?....yes i may have had a float level problem since gas was sipping out butterfly shaft when i drove it before i blew the pv when it wasnt running while welding evac tube in headers

when you take off the metering block, if there is gas behind it, the PV is a blown. sounds like the needle and seat was stuck open though
