DIGITAL INSPECTION CAMERA FOR ENGINE…best $70 ever spent!

I’ve never been one to buy “cheap” tools for working on my cars, but I’ll give this one some credit! It’s probably the best $70 I’ve ever spent. I read a lot of the reviews, but after buying this thing and testing it out, I wonder if the competition was paying folks to submit bad reviews. Pulled a spark plug and looked down the hole today just to test it and I could see everything crystal clear! Picked this up on sale from Harbor Freight, and it’s worth every penny.

I bought one from Harbor Freight years ago that doesn't work worth a hoot due to no flexibility on the probe, I'll buy one of these now, thinks for the tip

I have a Teslong wi-fi camera from Amazon, it can be used with my phone or tablet. The images are very sharp.

Has anyone used one of the cheaper thermal image cameras? I think one of those could give interesting data at times.

Same here. I've been using one of these USB snake setups for a while now...the only caveat is that the "snake" part of it can be somewhat difficult to manipulate when you're trying to get 'around a corner' or in some tight spot - the 'snake' lacking the rigidity/hardness to retain the shape you bent into it...but otherwise, it works great!

This is the one I bought, they have gone up since i bought mine. It has a mirror that threads on the end to take images at 90°. For some reason I can't paste as a link.

So that is a cylinder bore ?

The mirror sounds like a great idea. I needed something this summer to check a few bores more closely.

I use this one, bought on Amazon, but may be available elsewhere too.
Less than $60. It wirelessly connects to my smart phone and uses the phone screen.
It has both a camera facing out the tip, and another on the side.

Rifle bore.

Makes one wonder why the Dr. has to use such a big one in there inspections?

This isn't the section where anymore can be said about it.

I have an older HF version, but still the cheaper of the two they offered at the time.

IIRC, the probe isn't small enough to go through a spark plug hole. However, I really like using it to make sure my intake runners are aligned with the cylinder head ports when installing an intake.

I have found that same feature with a tunnel ram lol
