Surprise no one said super performance valve cover gasket here. Mine has developed a leak at the back as well, i manage to put a dap of silicone on it for now i'll get a new set over the winter.

Get rid of the chrome valve covers and your leak will go away. Use a cast valve cover with a machined rail and you won't have any leaks. Indy makes a good valve cover or Trick Flow or others. I think the Cometic rubber valve cover gasket is the best on the market but you really shouldn't have any leaks with even a cheap gasket if you have two smooth and rigid surfaces that you are sealing.

SCE cork and rubber combination, works great and lasts a long time with a lot of use on adjusting the valves on my old drag race motors scope up

We always used cork with the Chrome valve covers. They were only able to be used once and then had to be thrown away. I have since bought Mopar Performance Cast valve covers and Moroso blue rubber gasket with steel core. They have been on the car at least 10 years and the gaskets reused many many times without any issues.
