Need a T&D 1.5 left offset 440-1 intake rocker

Need a T&D 1.5 left offset 440-1 intake rocker - 07/20/22 02:04 PM

One of my friends broke a T&D intake rocker over the weekend and T&D is 6-8 weeks out on a replacement.

I seen the thread awhile back about Automachine in CT and left a message and sent an email.

Anyone else have or know where we might be able to find a rocker?

Do some looking around on T&D’s website as I’m about positive the 440-1 heads and 360-1 heads use the exact same rockers. Of course the shafts are different but rockers are the same. I know the rockers Indy sold fit both heads too.

I would imagine the 360-1's from T&D are the same wait time at the 440-1 but will mention that too them.

I run 1.6 rockers and have some spares but naturally they need a 1.5. hammer

As long as they have valve to piston clearance what’s the difference. Just dial it in and race.

I offered, and they didn't want to do that.....He said they are around .700 lift so I if they are .470 on the lobe it might be another .045 on that valve and put them around .750 lift as long as they aren't running close to coil bind on the spring....

I bet its either going to be that or not race for the rest of the summer.....Over a rocker arm....

I just went through the very same thing last September, looked everywhere for a rocker couldn't find one. I broke down and ordered from T&D and they shipped it in 3 days!

So, I have a used set of 1.6 TD as well otherwise I'd have offered. I was thinking about selling them. I've seen these rockers made a couple different ways and the ones I don't like have a significant relief for valvespring clearence. I'd guess HIS are cut too? Curious to know what was the spring loads and cam profile?

One other thing worth mentioning is: The rockers i have ARE LABELED WRONG!!! I found that when i built the engine. They are stamped 1.5 and are actually a tick OVER 1.6. So, it's remotely possible that your buddy has a 1.6 ratio and doesnt know. Also if you could give us anything you might know of his valvetrain as described in my previous post Thanks!

I've seen that same thing on many different high end brand Mopar single shaft rocker arm kits shock shruggy
All the older ductile iron rockers would have less ratio than advertised puke whiney

Sorry guys I get off doing 500 other things and lose track of things on here.

Anyways Hardcore now that you mention it, he found a set somewhere then called me the other day and said he needed different length pushrods.... eek

I questioned the ratio of the ones he got because of that but not sure he verified it after I talked to him at the track last week.

All good! And for that matter I never 'plotted' the used set of -1 offset that I bought, they are stamped 1.6. The pic i showed was my set of SR-offset rockers just to show the undercut. I just assumed you were more involved and aware of the build details of his motor, asked for posterity. Yes, makes you wonder if his were actually 1.6.... and his spring pack is set up more for 1.5 and less lift etc. oooof!

Called him a little while ago.....I am going to take a couple of my old 1.6's I have for spares to the track tomorrow for him to compare.

Cant get pushrods for 6 weeks either so he has time to figure this out.

So, i was going to mention this too but I have a few different pushrods sets that may work. Let me know what you/he needs or you can fwd my contact info to him.
