Trans rebuild Chicago area

Who have you had rebuild your street/strip 727 in a 420 hp B body?

Should be an easy rebuild at that level. Clutches, steels and seals.

Have you considered trying it yourself?

If you can handle a bit of a drive, Kilpatrick Engine and transmission in Waukesha, WI is one of the best in the SE Wisconsin area. They did a good job on my 727, rebuilt to 500 hp/lb-rt level. They are a good supporter of the hobby in this area as well. Can't help you with anything in Chicago but I would expect that there are a few good shops there.

He has since switched to only selling parts, and no longer building trans for customers.

He's definitely lacking in customer service skills.

He was ok on the first 3 I bought ..

but, this last one ,, I pray I have no trouble because I am sure he won't help at all

He's very busy because he's amongst the very best for Mopar transmissions (904, 727, etc).

Sounds like the same history him and I have had. He has found religion now, I'm sure things are all better now. HaHa.
