Composition type head gasket wedge 4.5 bore 0.04 thickness

Composition type head gasket wedge 4.5 bore 0.04 thickness - 06/16/22 08:18 PM

Is there composition type head gaskets for 4.5" bore wedge blocks in 0.040 or 0.039 compressed thickness? Only ones I've found with these specs are MLS gaskets and I would prefer composite type gasket for this low compression engine I'm building.

Wedge or Hemi? Fel-Pro shows "steel core laminate" with 0.051" thickness. Part # 1105 Wedge. Part # 1104 Hemi.

When I get Cometic gaskets yes I go .030 over the bore size. I think I have two of these gaskets so if I get a chance I will mic one.

FelPro 1039

4.59 bore and .051 compressed. Unfortunately the big bore and thicker gasket would kill some compression.

Try SCE Gasket company,661-728-9200 scope
They are one of the premier racing gasket companies, especially for NASCAR racing twocents
Good luck, where in Europe are you racing?

What you want doesn't exist. Your best bet is a Cometic gasket.

Ok, so my thoughts were right, guess I have to go with cometics then. @Cab_Burge I'm in Finland, fixed location in my profile.. And I'm not really racing anything, just street driving my car, occasional test'n'tunes every now and then..

I don't know would it be ok to open new topic to this forum about my upcoming 572 build and ask opinions for compression and cam choices since I think here would be the most knowledge about big inch motors even this isn't real race engine I'm building..?

Hell yes! I'm on board with 572 cubic inch street engines all day long.

I'm waiting for my crank assembly to come back from balancing for my 572 wedge motor build, I was planning on running it with NOS in my old S/P car that I sold it last month so I'll have to wait to put it in my new S/P car now. shruggy
That motor has new KB Aluminum 4.500 bore block with a older KB top fuel crankshaft 4.500 stroke with full counterweights with Mopar size rod journals, Scat steel I beam 7.100 long Mopar rods and CP pistons for NOS with 14.5 to 1 compression with 76.0 CC B1 heads, sheet metal tunnel ram with two Mark Sullens E85 Dominator carbs with two NEX 4500 perimeter NOS plates spraying around 400 HP total luckdevil
I'm hoping the steel rods will live making around 1400 HP on E85 and NOS work luck
I'm planning on dyno testing and tuning it on E85 now and add the NOS at the track testing and racing it later luck

This is probably what you will end up going with. (Cometics) I ordered these for my Keith Black 572 and ended up going with .060 thick to give me a little cushion with my B1 heads and nitrous. Saving these for if I build a NA combo. They measure 4.515. If you are going to order some get your order in. My last three sets took 6 months, 2weeks, and 6 weeks for my last set.

Felpro makes a gasket that fits your description, part # FEL-PRO 8519PT1 and they are around $16 each on amazon. compressed .039 bore 4.505
