One Step Closer!

Finally got around to getting an engine pan made for the old HotRod. Came out nice, deep enough to do its job, user friendly allowing fast removal, tucked and I don’t have to use a diaper. The AlterKtion made it really simple and easy. Now all I’m waiting for is the chassis cert guy to stop over and bless the cert and I’ll be taking the car out for some hits. Here’s a few pics of the pan.

Every time I see your posts I think back to the Video of your Dart and the AC/DC tune playing. That was a long time ago but I got goosebumps watching it!! If you do post a video of your new car put some music to it again!

Wildhorse these days is a moving target sometimes. Just like the mask mandates they said were in place for all who attended. Yet even the tribe members were not wearing them. They did have the TNT lane working as usual at the last bracket race.

I hear ya Al. I hope it stays put but it seems as though it’ll eventually be another lost track in the years to come. I’d really like to see someone bring some heads-up events but it’s probably just too expensive or difficult to deal with their management to make anything happen. I’ll check out the test stuff for the bracket races.

I bought the car over a year ago and have slowly been making changes and updates to things. The progress has been very very slow since recovering from a very bad motocross accident that landed me in the hospital for 4 months and 29 broken/fractured bones. I was midway through recovery when I purchased the car. Had to make some adjustments just to be able to sit in it. It’s a stock suspension N/T car with a Brett Miller W9 SBM. Combination for N/A & Nitrous. We’ll see how it runs soon enough. Will also work on getting it lighter than it currently is, but for now I just need to get some passes in it.

So far I’ve upgraded with the following:

- M&M Billet Shifter
- Induction Solutions Holey Moley Plate System
- New fuel lines
- PTC Bolt-Together Converter
- Funkhouser 10* Sliders for Split-Mono’s
- Bigger steering wheel w/Strange Hub Quick Disconnect
- 3.89 Gears
- Wider Kirkey Seat
- New Crow Belts
- Custom Engine Pan
- Few other things I’ve forgotten lol

I’m currently awaiting to get the cage recertification. Appointment is next month. I’m also going to get a new window net from Crow. We’ll be on the track in a few weeks. I’m looking forward to it.

Some challenges and more changes (more cage depending on how it runs) ahead for sure. Been away for a long time. I’ve gotta get back into the GRID, Racepak Datalogger, NMS Controller, suspension and the nitrous stuff. First time out will be a joy - can’t wait! I’ve missed it. And it’s cool to be back in a Mopar. Also working on a stk susp N/T car for my son. Hopefully have it done early next year.

i'm guessing the hoops under the front suspension are there to protect the oil pan from wheelie landing.
if so, what diameter and wall thickness are they ?
is there any chance those tubes could push the front chassis rails upward ?
where did you purchase your rear anti-roll bar, or is it custom fabbed ?

Seriously, what you have now is likely just as good (or better?) a foundation to go fast. Are you looking to do some type of class racing or just N/T?
