Hi I have a hurst competition shifter and I wanted to add a reverse lockout wanted to know if that was shifter specific or can you buy the lever and install it on any Shifter body? And if so does anyone know where I can get one? Thank you Mopar or no car

The comp plus in my gts has a "T" handle similar to the first post. Did you call brewers or passon? I think the reverse lockout kit might be reproduced.

If neither of those two don’t have the reverse lockout kit, I’m pretty sure shiftdoctor.com has them. And it may be shiftdoc.com but it’s easy to search and find the correct address.

Calhow much power can a 833 handle ? Before it breaks using slicks or drag radials

I found out years ago that you have to feed the drivetrain in 4 speed drag races, you can feed it tires, axles, U joints, clutch parts or whatever else it needs to continue to be raced whiney shruggy

There are many factors at play. A clutch that slips at the hit and controlling the suspension are both important components of not killing parts. Weight, hp, gear, how the car leaves and how it behaves going down the track all com in to play.

An a833 with aluminum housing/tailshaft/side cover and faceplated 9310 gears from Liberty will run 4500ish with all of a billet shifter mount and bearing retainer. Add redline MTL fluid, ARP hardware and a shifter its around 5k. This is best case scenario for a light weight, strong a833. Anything less than the above (case material is arbitrary) will cause reliability to suffer.

As for how much power something will handle or make I am done with those discussions on this website it is pointless to debate something when the only data that anyone here sees as valid is the data that supports their opinion. Now if you want to talk about expected results in my opinion I would think that you would start having problems around 700 horse and 3500 lb if you could keep the clutch from breaking everything behind it. Part of the reason I have not had any parts breakage so far is because I ramp in the power via a nitrous hit on a Progressive controller and a clutch tamer on the pedal. Otherwise the stock eight and three quarter would have been grenaded a while back. I am still paranoid enough that a Dana 60 is going in its place
